Places - Stones N Rubber

When we visited the Stones N Rubber mall last week, we noticed how busy the place was.

Not that statues move around that much - I mean how jam-packed every meter of the sim was.

So we called Sinha Hynes and suggested we feature it in a Places post. Could she write us a few lines about the history and so on?

She dived into the project and sent us a very detailed document. I’ve mercilessly chopped it, as we write fairly brief posts to avoid tl:dr syndrome, but I’m sure if you want more details, she’ll be happy to provide them.

Stones N Rubber, then, started in February 2009, making it a venerable fetish project by SL standards. SNR changed locations a few times until a year and a half ago when they acquired their current sim.

The three owners, who have been there right from the start, are Sveta Takaaki, Janina Martinek and Sinha Hynes. (That’s also remarkable - falling-outs between partners are a common cause of sim / project death.)

Stones N Rubber has always been about statues, including dolls, mermaids, sphinx girls and more; and when rubber ponies starting becoming a thing (ha! I’ve had one for ages!) they expanded their stable and created a rubber mares group.

The rules are fairly strict; statues are expected to put in serious time and devotion.

I’ll finish on a quote from Sinha :

“Those who have not yet heard of Stones N Rubber are missing something if they like strictness, RLV control and transformation.”

DeVicious New Store

Not precisely stop-the-presses stuff tonight, but the DeVicious store is new and improved, and I thought it was worth mentioning.

The previous store was a bit of a maze. Closed rooms opening into a long central corridor made it nearly impossible to cam around and find where you were looking.

Now I’m the first to admit not everyone uses the camera in Second Life the way I do - and I frequently find myself wishing for a Louma crane in RL from habit ;)

But in SL architecture, I’m a big fan of less is more. So I’m pretty happy to see half walls, and fairly open spaces at DeVicious.

Elixir’s New Look

Khorus Magne sent us a quick hello last week, just a hair too late to stick in the Friday post, so here it is : Elixir, and her sister store, Boingo, just moved to a new location in Nelson Bay.

Both stores have undergone a complete redesign, along more space-stationy lines (don’t mind the palm trees around it) for Elixir, and a hard to describe circle-based look for Boingo.

Places - Domme a Domme

Domme a Domme is an old hangout; old is awesome in a world where the average run for a club is 3 months.

It’s busy, too. We saw a very respectable crowd the few times we dropped in, and we’re told it’s not unusual to see 50 visitors at the same time, giving Bondage Ranch a run for its money.

The better part of the crowd seemed to be regulars, which sounds like a good thing to me - you go back to a place you like, right?

D-a-D is a living room-styled club on the ground level, with a few toys here and there. Inara (and Frank Lloyd Wright!) fans will recognize the layout as inspired by Fallingwater.

Pony Tuesdays at Twisted Orchid

We had a fun surprise tonight, as Kailani Ling made an announcement on the SL Ponygirls Club: Tuesday nights are now Pony themed events at Twisted Orchid.

The Orchid is the oldest still-existing club where lelo and I hung out. Arsheba, the first, went the way of much in SL and moved on.

Well I couldn’t see an announcement like that go by without visiting. Orchid and ponies still have a spot in my heart even though I mostly moved on.

The crowd was good, and while there wasn’t a stampede of ponies, there were quite a few, and much of the rest of the guests were in good-looking fetishwear - I wasn’t the only one in XTC leather :)

The sponsor for the evening was Red Devil, one of our regularly featured designers.

Places: Domaine Imperium

The Fetish Spot is already turning into a cool social spot. Why just the other day, there were nearly eight of us yakking away - that's right, in public! ;)

Ok, so it will take a bit of time for traffic to build, but out of that nice chat, we got a lead to a very nice new place, the Domaine Imperium.

Our tipsters and new friends are Somehow Peccable and her girl, Emma Sunshine.

Imperium is new, having opened just last October, but already looks very, very good.

Eschewing the classic black goth castle of doom look, it is built along the lines of the Chateau de Chenonceau in France.

We visited with the intention of doing a serious, journalistic-type interview, but Nashari (and a friendly regular guest called Erlanis) was so pleasant to talk to that this plan dissolved into interesting conversation in no time flat.

As a result, I have less hard info than I could, but a darn good first impression of the place ;)

Imperium is a supportive and very open BDSM community, welcoming LGBT and non-human guests, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Activities are already ongoing, including community round tables and conversation circles. A live singer should be at Imperium on December 16th for their “Latex Santa” holiday party.

One neat project Nashari mentioned is a set of bondage toys currently being developed, to be offered free to members and sold at half price to guests. More on this as it develops.

Club Le Fetiche Is Now On Adult Hub

A few weeks back, I was at Freedom Continent and Serjourn called me over to meet some nice folks as she was setting up their new location: Kennedy Trang, the new owner of Club Le Fetiche, and friends.

They seemed quite nice and I made a mental note to drop by soon and have a peek.

Tonight was a good time and we met Jenna, the co-owner of the club.

We agreed to do a better post soon, and to mention that Saturday nights are full of cool events.

PoC Move

It’s under way but it’s not quite done: Powers of Creation is moving their store to a new location.

We heard last week as Kai cancelled an event at Dark Refuge. It’s really not like him to flake out, so I enquired and got a bit of advance info.

I might not even share it just yet if not for the big sign at the main store; one thing our sources know about us in the last four years is that we respect “off the record” requests.

Why, I could tell you... no, no, I kid ;)

So PoC will be moving in a very clean and uncluttered tropical sim, with a new and improved store layout. Dates and actual info from the man himself forthcoming, I’m sure.

Latex Station Revamp and Hunts

A few months back, Latex Station got a big revamp : walls removed, the whole thing simplified and streamlined... I was just trying to find a good time to tell you ;)

VvB shoes and boots now occupy the bottom floor, and there’s a mini mall with other designers - many of them friends we featured in the blog.

The cheapies table is still there, well-stocked as ever, gorgeous older LS outfits at 10L$ each.

Places : Lesbian Plantation of Submission

It’s a good while since we found a new place to point you to, and we discovered LiPS (as the place is known to its regulars) by luck; well, but I dislike the word. When you keep your eyes open, opportunities present themselves.

We were visiting Mad Science, and while we didn’t find anything to review this time, I saw some signs outside; we followed one, and arrived next door at LiPS - they are sim neighbors.

First thing I told lelo when we saw the auditorium was “Aha! I found our new conference room.”

As it happened, the lady of the place, Mistress Tanya, was in residence when we visited - there’s that luck again! ;)

LiPS is a new group and play area for women, but they already have a good level of activity: slave auctions, a little fetish mall, and a friendly hostess who gives baths. If you visit with a RLV viewer, be warned, the traps are hungry :)

The theme is Greek, and the temple, bath, atriums, and auditorium are disposed in a harmonious way, making good use of the hilly terrain.

Places: Adult Gallery at Blacksilk

We called Serjourn, expecting a few good updates on Freedom and the Adult Hub.

Seems a few updates is what we’d get if we called every other day. New sims, new projects.. and a new and improved map, once again!

The one project Serj took time to show us around in is her pet project, a new adult art gallery at Blacksilk Forrest.

The gallery is quite big, spreading on two floors. All original art (or soon to be), which will be certified by an in-world art association.

There is some RL photography, which I was a little surprised to see, but Serjourn sees it as belonging, so long as it is original art belonging to the displaying artist.

The art is for sale, so don’t hesitate to support the artists.

Zindra Prime : New Adult Hub

It’s good to have friends. Especially the kind that know the cool, new, exciting stuff going on in Second Life.

For a few weeks now, we’ve been hearing rumblings and rumors : a new adult hub is coming to SL.

Well Freedom Continent is it. A new five-sim extension now adjoins it, with Zindra Prime at its center (the one with the nifty pyramid) and Zindra North, South, East and West around it.

Hub, gateway, door : a place for people interested in adult content in SL to begin their journey, managed by established, responsible people. Sounds pretty smart to me.

Of course, we’ve been telling you Freedom Continent was a nifty place for a while, so we look pretty darn well-informed ourselves ;)

It’s my intellectual snobbishness, perhaps, but I believe there are people who are doers, and they definitely bear keeping an eye on, because they’re going places, and usually taking a lot of people along with them.

Serjourn Daxter is a doer. The solid crowd she gathered around her is going places, and we’ll be telling you the details as they develop.

Places : Fallen Angels Club

The thing that struck me on any number of visits at Fallen Angels was this : there are always people there, and although quite large, the club never felt deserted.

Dancing, sitting and chatting, sociably hanging around in every nook and cranny... the heart of the club definitely seems to be social.

The atmosphere is genial, and the staff is really helpful. I bugged most of the management for info, and was met with unfailing good cheer.

There’s no fixed theme at Fallen, unlike Rubber Room, say. Indeed, tolerance is the watchword, and even some of the less popular - no I’m not giving you a list, ya perv! ;) - fetish and BDSM interests are welcome.

The member group is huge : 5073 tonight, the largest I’ve seen in my years in SL.

A residential sim, Crystal Cove II, was added and seems to be doing well.

Fallen is a busy place, with events every night : discussion groups, prize events and so on... a peek at the event calendar should convey that ;)

The popular event seems to be Naked Night, on the beach every Saturday; the club proper is a sky platform at 2500m, where the horizon curves and reminds you of space shuttles.

I poked a bit of fun at NaamahsKiss, who was kind enough to answer my nosy questions, about “naked fetish”, but she remained unflappable ;)

So if you’re looking for an actual friendly BDSM club to make your hangout, do consider Fallen Angels.

KDC - Kokoro Maids Uniform

Lelo had a fun idea for this week : a special on maid uniforms.

It led to some interesting shopping and we met some neat people along the way; I think this is not a bad way to discover Second Life.

Lelo will do most of the describing and details, so let me start with Bound Maid Manor, which we found in our travels.

The Manor offers a 10-level training program for maids, including lots of RLV bondage and servitude. Detailed notecards explain the duties and rules applying to maids who join.

This is no naughty-maid sex play; the uniforms are expected to cover everything at all times.

Which brings me to KDC’s Kokoro. Any less naughty than that and you have to start thinking about nuns habits and burlap ;)

It’s a classic and I see no reason it can’t be around for many years to come.

Hit Bound Maid Manor in your KDC and start cleaning!

To kick off our maids week, an oldie but goodie.

I think this uniform has been around longer then most of us, but in my humble opinion it’s still one of the best in SL.

It’s a good combination of cloth layer and prim clothing, and one of the few where the SL skirt works, giving the feel of loads of petticoats.

Just love the way the prim parts bring the skirt to life, especially the splash of red from the bow makes this one pop.

There are two caps included so that they don’t interfere with your hair, very smart and considerate.

Take some time to adjust the prims to your AV. Kyrah builds to Japanese sizes, so it took me a few minutes to get everything to fit just right, but it was worth it.

Just add some good shoes and you can start your dusting.

Ohh one little tip, there is no underwear included and the skirt leaves quite a bit of peeking room, so better beware.

Freedom - Damsel Dungeon

Something new was created under the Damsel sim, and it’s slowly growing.

Reports say it already undermined Pirandello and has reached Bondage Ranch... and rumors even hint at tunnels being dug under Blacksilk.

Serjourn took us on a long tour of the newest attraction on Freedom Continent, the extensive underground (duh) dungeon complex.

In the entrance of the complex you get a choice of your RLV restriction for the dungeon.

Yes, as you might expect of a modern dungeon it’s full of RLV goodies and traps.

Serjourn assured us that when you take your restriction serious, you might spend quite some time in the dungeon, so you have been warned, not that that will change your mind one bit i’m sure. *winks*

Presently there are 11 themed rooms in the complex, ranging from an ice-dungeon, hell, the bridge of the bondage ship Enterspice and especially for my Mistress, a leather room.

We won’t go into full descriptions of all the rooms, because that would take all the fun out of the discovery.

As Serjourn is a collector of BDSM furniture, the displayed toys are all top class and at times pretty much unique in SL. Ohh and all free to be used, just please clean after use.

A special mention should be given to the test lab of Think Kink, if you want to try the newest from the - in our humble opinion - best toy makers in SL, this is the place to go.

Serjourn is still working on little last minute items, but the dungeon is open for use and abuse.

So go have a look at the biggest dungeon of SL, and try not to get lost, it is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to this dungeon, listen...".

Places : Club Le Fétiche

Club Le Fétiche is located on Darkadia. They’re good neighbors, according to Mariko ;)

We finally got around to going over and having a peek. We were greeted by friendly staff, who gave us good information and were generally amazingly nice and helpful.

That’s completely in line with the stated goals of the club, of being a friendly and welcoming place.

Le Fétiche has been in existence since Fall 2009 - fairly impressive for a fetish club in SL.

The club’s interior is decorated in vintage boudoir style, giving a cosy feel right at the entrance.

It is open to all fetishes, and aside from the warm social room, a dungeon is available, with state-of-the-art toys.

Le Fétiche organizes events and parties, with an impressive list of sponsors that reads like an SL fetish Who’s Who - you know, like a certain blog ;)

This is not unusual for a club; but they also run an educational center. Educators from all over Second Life come to give classes, which we hear are quite popular.

The art gallery is also a big draw, bringing in people who are not usually in the BDSM community.

I’ll just add a little quote from the club owner, Wancha Back:

“I'm determined to ensure that Le Fetiche is open to all, but particularly those of like mind. I'm passionate about its future and I’ll be working to provide more of what our guests have always come to expect.”
Sounds good to us.

Places - Aya BDSM

When we reviewed Sophie’s Shop, I told you we’d have more to say about Aya BDSM, the sim where Sophie’s is located. Well we’re bloggers who keep our word, so here it is ;)

Aya BDSM, then, has been around for four years. The founder, Tonie Aya, created the place as a Femdom sissy sanctuary. (I didn’t even *know* they were endangered!)

There seems to be quite an active community, with a group filled with over 200 maids, along with dolls, trannies, and assorted sissies of every description.

Lelo remarked on the number of mistresses who were present when we dropped in this week - this is a great contrast with most places we visit, where dommes are usually outnumbered by a large factor.

Aya is managed by four Governesses, who deal with the day-to-day running of the sim. We were lucky enough to catch one and get lots of good info from her.

Roleplay is taken fairly seriously; maid hopefuls are interviewed to select serious candidates.

The main building is a large mansion, with several floors filled with cleanable items.. have to keep those maids busy, don’t you know ;)

Regular Sunday social gatherings allow Mistresses and sissies to mix, chat and dance.

Aya is also part of the Sissy Circle Group, a group of sissy oriented sims including FFU and Velvet Crossing.

Freedom - Blacksilk Academy

Next on our tour of the Freedom continent is an education facility called Blacksilk Academy.

The brainchild of Ravena Decuir, it sits on the Blacksilk sim.

Roman architecture seems particularly well suited to outside classes - if a philosopher in a toga walked up, I wouldn’t blink.

Ravena has made available a collection of informative notecards in the library (the round-roofed building) on a number of good D/s subjects.

Classes are mostly one-on-one with Ravena, and she has some good instructors joining her.

One of them is Forceme Silverspar. She has been giving her own classes in SL for over three years.

There are huge changes coming to Freedom, so here’s a little scoop, courtesy of Serjourn Daxter : The three “winter” sims are going. Bye bye Sine Qua Non, Ravenia and Fetish Network, we hardly knew ye. So does North Star, the westernmost sim. Blacksilk and Pirandello Bay move north of Damsel/Bondage Ranch. This is already under way, we nearly didn’t have pics to show you of the academy tonight ;) New sims are joining Freedom : Vesta Amor will be north of the newly moved Blacksilk. Blue Spirit, a pony sim, will be east of Forbidden Sins - and our new friend Ponybound Resident will set up shop there :) Billie’s, the popular jazz club, will remain on Blacksilk. Basically, I’d say check the map frequently ;)
