Kayliwulf Kingdom - Ebony and Ivory

A fun little (very little) outfit from Kayliwulf, here is Ebony and Ivory.

The recipe is black latex and white lace - not a combination generally found in nature, but SL lets you do things like that ;)

The fluff.. it was a huge surprise to find how much rendering fluff can cost.

I wore my beautiful Drawmachine minidress (which also has much fluff) at an event during the LFFW - can't show up two days in a row in the same outfit, don't you know.

Well, after seeing the five-digit number floating above my head, I went with a catsuit.

So. Don't wear this hot little number to big events... save it for the bedroom.

This outfit hides just the right places... just.. *smiles*

The ankle boots are a great feature, i love the laces, pity Laz used the old style heels and not his gorgeous new ones.

The black underwear is a classic which will work with most everything.

The white gloves are adorable, as is the fuzzy bodice, which has an amazing rendering cost of 3412, more than a sim of newbies. *winks*

The little white skirt almost manages to make the outfit PG... well almost..

AtaMe - Water Collection

Quick note from us on Sunday, our friend Milu just called us with some news we just couldn't keep from our readers.

First of all she has moved her shop to the Red Light Center so we included the new SLURL as you are used from us.

Secondly and more important the first of a new line of latex clothes by her, the water collection, which will consist mainly of latex bathing suits and bikini's.

The first one is this B&W one which comes in both underwear and shirt layer.

The shine is as we are used to from AtaMe, quite good and the white works very good, very sharp lines in this one.

The new line will have a special price in honor of the move to the new shop, just 150 ls.

So better get them while they are hot.

Pony Fun

After last week's post on rules, I thought I should emphasize how much fun pony play can be.

Real equines are playful, so why shouldn't a ponygirl be playful too?

For example, when taking the walk through the pony bath after a long run, I love to run and jump, splashing everyone nearby - including my trainer!

And on leaving the bath, I will shake tail and mane vigorously, soaking anyone close by.

If you have a follow cart, while walking or running, throw in a few jumps to shake things up for the passengers.

It's important that no matter how strict and rule based your play is, that you always enjoy what you are doing and make it fun.

There is no reason why a pony can't be seen playing with a ball, kicking it around a paddock.

Owners and trainers should always ensure the pony is healthy and not depressed.

Occasionally changing training exercises and locations will add variety and help keep things interesting, and in turn, fun.

I'd love to hear what other ponies and trainers do to keep the fun factor in ponyplay, and I'm sure others would love it too - leave it in a comment!

LFFW Outfits - 5

BAX Coen Design - Prestige Boots Black Leather

Bax's Prestige leather boots are quite new; they were released two weeks ago.

They're absolutely gorgeous, from the tip of the heel to the menu-controlled boot top.

I've told you often enough about adjusting boots, and I sure don't mind doing it; it's part of Second Life.

But this time, Bax blows the competition out of the water with this simple sentence coming out of her store's service terminal :

"We will fit your BAX Prestige Boots for free while you wear them. Ask our Customer Service in the store."

I watched Bax herself fix a few customers' boots, and it takes next to no time.

This gave me enough info to do most of my adjusting, then Bax finished it for me.

These are now my favorite boots, edging out my Redgrave by a small fraction.

Perfect classic stiletto heel, metal accents in the right places, a detailed leather texture, and ankle "folds" add to the realism.

These are the boots of the season for me. Bax once again sets the bar for other boot designers.

Another great boot by Bax and as we have come to expect they don't only look extremely good, the scripting is once again impressive.

The menu give you the options to control the look of the boots by changing the tops on them, a very nice feature are the denim versions.

The color of most of the parts can be adjusted to match your taste, most except for the main boot color, a simple reset colors button saves you when you go a bit overboard with the adjustments.

The menu offers, by now, the usual sound and AO setting, didn't take us long to get used to that one. *winks*

The fitting menu is something we haven't seen like this before, and the remote fitting option is another new feature to SL.

Finally there is the option to remove all the scripts from the boots making them a bit more lag friendly.

To sum it all up: amazing look, amazing scripting, amazing new features, amazing customer service... simply put amazing. *smiles*

So why are you standing there, go get your own pair.

LFFW Outfits - 4

Here we have Seph Ishelwood modeling SubVersion's Laced Up Latex Blue.

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Candy Blue

Here's a cool, classy number from Kayliwulf : Candy Blue.

The astute reader - him again! - will spot a family resemblance with Belle Rouge, which we reviewed in June.

That's ok, Kayliwulf do that. So does everyone. You want 12 colors, get the 12 outfits ;)

Partial nipple baring alert, as in many Kayliwulf Kingdom outfits.

You know, I wonder if anyone would really scream for a half-bared nipple?

Another great outfit from Kayliwulf, this time a black and royal blue combination, something you don't see too often.

In this box you get 16 parts, including a sticky latex obsidian catsuit, a PVC & Chrome open corset in royal blue.

The lovely type 4 heels are combined with cloth layer back laced thigh highs and the prim laces, al in royal blue.

The lace are also on the back of the corset and the gloves.

A new feature is the laces on the back of the skirt, completing the back laced them of the outfit.

Right or Wrong?

One of the more difficult things in writing this column is maintaining a perspective.

Much of what I have written so far is my own personal opinion, based on my experiences and observations.

I have written here what I think may be useful to old and new ponies alike.

But I must express that what you have read here is simply a guide, from my own personal point of view.

There is no right or wrong way to be a pony.

Some are the more casual ponies, occasionally getting into tack to pull a cart, and others are full time ponies with owners.

For some, very little of what has been written in this column will be useful, for others, I hope, much of it will.

Some stables have very strict rules, where others are much more relaxed. How useful this guide is depends on how seriously you take your pony-play.

It is not my intent to tell anyone how to be a pony. That is for the pony's owner, trainer or caretaker to determine. I do not intend to set a standard to be used across SL.

My opinion is that the more natural and free flowing something is, the more fun it is.

And so my hope is that this guide helps new ponies to gain a better understanding of the pony-play scene, helps them to feel a little more comfortable the first time in tack.

I also hope that it helps those that would be trainers or owners to understand a little of what it is to be a pony, and just what a privilege is it to spend time with one.

Ultimately, it is a free realm of possibilities, and should be explored as fully as you are able.

If you disagree with anything I write here, I would welcome your comments to the benefit of all that read this to get another's perspective and thoughts.

LFFW Follow-up : Outfits, first of many

Hello everyone,

The Latex Fetishwear Fashion Week is over, but hardly gone.

Over the next few days, we'll post pictures of the awesome outfits worn by models during various shows.

We would have liked to snap more live runway pics, but my viewer has a tendency to explode when I snap at busy sims.. I believe it's not uncommon.

The model on these pictures is Wicca Merlin. She was a total dear to work with, and I recommend her to anyone who needs a model.

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Solomon's Rubies

We got on last night as we usually do, and got an invitation to a Kayliwulf party. lelo and I love those parties. Laz is the best DJ ever, he has a great voice and will hunt down a special request no matter *what* it is ;) But this one was special :

August 15th 2006 is the day Kayliwulf began. Sunday's party was the three-year anniversary celebration.

Daphne gave me a bit of history :

- their first store was a room in their castle,

- their first products were latex hooded skins,

- as they were on the mainland, they used to get griefed a lot - does anyone still do that? - so they would go out and shoot at the griefers with guns.

She says she and Laz are still having fun... best reason to keep working at anything, in my opinion.

Now, about this week's outfit, Solomon's Rubies : if you like flash and bling, this one's for you.

If you look closely at a ruby, you'll fall asleep and hear only the sound of my voice... No, I kid. You'll note that it's an extremely clever rotating texture, first time I see this.

By the way, don't miss the Buy One, Get One Free sales at Kayliwulf. We mentioned them before, and they're still going strong. I think Daphne drinks even more coffee than I do.

This is a 23 part outfit, consisting of a standard Fetishdoll X black catsuit, a pair of 10" black platform pumps with lovely red heels and loads of shiny red rubies.

The rubies attach to 14 points, not leaving much room for anything else, there is one place dear old Laz forgot to place rubies, there are no earrings included. *winks*

At Kayliwulf we met MistyBlue Nitely, one of Kayliwulf's general managers. She and Candi Ragu are Daphne's left and right hands.

Mistyblue gave us a bit of background on this outfit.

It was created by Misty and Daphne for the LFFW fashion show and in her words, "it is smoking hot".

Anyway i love the red glow from the rubies.... Mmmmm... shiny.. *giggles*

Non Pony Specific Items

This is an often overlooked subject, but I feel it is worth a mention.

There are, naturally, items that can be bought that are not specifically related to ponyplay, yet can be used all the same.

Obviously, riding outfits are one such thing that spring to mind. Riding boots, jodhpurs, or other items of clothing suited to a life on a farm or ranch.

Whips are another such item. A riding crop, most commonly used in general BDSM play, is almost an essential tool for a gentle reminder that a pony is a controlled animal.

But what about the pony?

My favorite item for this is the arm binder. A pony has no need for arms, and, sometimes, hand hooves and arms just get in the way. So why not use an arm binder?

I find the Dari Haus S2 binder works best for this, not least because it is RLV enabled, can be time locked by the pony or a trainer/owner.

This also comes at the best price. Free. Dari Haus will be missed in SL, but her legacy lives on for all to enjoy.

Second Life will not be the same without designers like Dari, who made some amazing items before leaving SL.

Blindfolds also can be used to control a wayward pony, or just for fun with a cart.

Hay bales, and all manor of farm related items, including stables and blacksmiths forges all add to a pony environment.

So remember to expand your searches to at least look at something that doesn't have "ponygirl" or "ponyplay" in the description.

Latex Station - Aeryn Red

We haven't showed all the recent designs from Latex Station, so here's one from the new series : Aeryn, in red.

You'll recognize the corset from prior posts (there's also a red version), but this catsuit features some intricate floral lace in an asymmetrical pattern which is quite striking.

The outfit comes with a mask, which is really a skin, as those things usually are.

The skin under the mask is quite pale, and comes with a gothy makeup.

The mask ends at the neck and the gloves are wrist-length; they are clearly meant to complement the outfit.

While examining the outfit closely - we usually do a fair Sherlock Holmes job on the clothes, dear reader.. getting our facts right! - I noticed that wearing the shirt layer without the undershirt showed breasts in a semi-transparent way. Wearing the undershirt makes the outfit opaque.


lelo:Another good looking catsuit by Chill3 from Latex Station.

The reflections on the texture are amazing, you really have the urge to look for your own reflection in them.

The red really matches the red Bax used in her red patent ankle boots.

Next to the red there is a white, with black lace, and a black, with white lace, version of this outfit.

A great outfit, the lace making it stand out from the crowd, Chill once again proves she goes her own way when it comes to clothes design.

Kcreations - Wave Catsuit black/pink

Wave is Kat Fetisov's new line of catsuits, with a distinctive pattern of black over some good colors : pink (shown here), red, white and blue.

The shine is subtle and well-executed, the colors are vibrant.. there's a lot to like here.

I know, I know. You're thinking, "Deirdre, how many catsuits are you going to show us?"

Short answer? So long as I keep finding good ones, I'll keep posting about them!

With the kit you get 18 pieces of Kat's usual textured latex, but the fun thing is all the pieces can be mixed and matched to get your own personalized catsuit.

One nice detail is that even when you choose one solid color, the other still shows as tiny lines between the panels.

This outfit will keep you busy for a couple of hours, finding the combination you love and chances are you won't run into the same in SL.
