Ponypathy

A pony friend of mine, during a brief spell when I was able to talk to her, was venting a little about what is known in the pony circles as "ponypathy".

This is a term coined from ponies using "telepathy" to think what they are saying, or to put it another way, talking via emoting.

"Pony thinks she wants to go and jump some steeples" is an example of this.

In most pony circles, such an act of telepathic communication is not considered acceptable, although there are times when many ponies will resort to it.

I have done it on occasion, I am ashamed to admit.

So, for the record, I want to ask any ponies reading this to try just that little bit harder to dig deep and be creative.

If you are fitted with a bit, you would not be able to talk, and I am sure that at least most, if not all ponies, really are not telepathic.

Why not try a little harder to emote, use body language and try to let your feelings be known without taking the easy route?

"Pony stomps her hoof, shaking her head wildly, pulling at her reins" is one way to let your handler know something does not sit well with you.

An observant and capable handler would then ask the pony a series of questions, to which the yes or no hoof stomps will eventually get the message across.

It also enables the pony to not break character. And if all else fails, there is always IM. Then, as a last resort, perhaps ponypathy or butting your head against a brick wall.

So come on ponies! Work just a little bit harder to be creative with your emotes and make the experience just that little bit more real. Please?

Latex Station - Cresol Red

Deirdre:
Here's a lovely lace and latex outfit from Latex Station, called Cresol Red.

The black lace over the deep red gives a great effect. A big zipper at the back is a neat touch.

The 8-piece outfit comes with a "nude" latex catsuit in bra and panties layer, latex stockings and wrist gloves, and two corsets in jacket layer, red and black.

You're definitely getting your money's worth here.. all this will mix and match with other outfits for great looks.

The three colors for this outfit are transparent, dark, and red (worn by yours truly).

lelo:
Another new design from Latex Station, hard to classify this one, lets just call it very nice. *winks*

The texture of the body looks very good and works great as a contrast to the milky catsuit.

The black stockings have a white contrast line at the top, makes them really stand out.

And once again you get the corset we also saw with Nephania and Adalmina, seems someone is very proud of her new design.

Great for clubbing or fetish play... the red and black will really make you stand out. *smiles*

SHi Sexy Fashion - Leather Ballet Boots XL

Deirdre:
We saw these last time we visited SHi, and I made a mental note to get lelo a pair - at the price, not a difficult decision.

lelo picked the model for girls with larger calves - all that cart pulling, don't you know.

To my mind it's even a hair larger than necessary for her, but she likes them well enough.

The leather texture is beautiful, with good prim details enhancing it.

You can't go wrong with Shi. Tell her we sent you ;)

lelo:
You know my love of ballet boots and our list of ballet boots wouldn't be complete without these.

It's a one-part design which i love, no ugly ankle joint or even worse, painfully twisted ankles.

They are scripted to let you change the lace color, though you have to do the laces boot by boot.

I love the boxy toe-box, gives them a real stable walkable look.

As Mistress writes be careful with the size : XL really means XL, i mean horse size XL. *winks*

The boots are mod and copy so you can have your fun adjusting them with out fear of losing some very pretty boots.

One final thing, if you know of any boots that should be in our list, please mention them to me.

Things are progressing nicely with the event!

Here's the list of designers participating in the event :
A&K Designs, Addictions Latex, Alessandra, Armyst, Atame, Aw Designs, B-Squared, Bax Boots, Brushed Reality, Creepys, Dakoira Cao Latex, Eye-Catcher, Elixir, FallnAngel Creations, Graves, Hollow Angel Designs, Hugo's, Jaqueline's, K-creations, KDC, KK, Karu Karu, Kiki's Designs, Mesmerize Dungeon, NOD, POC, Rubber Kitten, Seldom Blue Latex, She Wants Revenge, Squeaky Rubber, Virtoys and VvB Boots & Stilettos

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Bleu Belle

Deirdre:
We covered Belle Rouge from Kayliwulf last month (our 200th post!) and now, here is Bleu Belle.

The outfits only have the name in common. This is a catsuit in a solid blue, with the famous Kayliwulf deep cleavage.

The white lace accents (gloves and bra) are a nice, delicate touch.

The boots are an earlier design. We saw recent improvements from Kayliwulf - in heels, in particular - but those are far from junk.

A nice outfit that just needs a few straps and cuffs and corsets and belts, and a hood, and a pump-gag and... um. You know ;)

lelo:
Blue Belle is a 11-part outfit, mostly as you might get from the name blue but with a few little white highlights.

The white boots are obvious but the enchanted bra has a nice white lacetex border and there are the lacetex gloves.

The enchanted bra and the lacetex undercup bra are in two seperate layers so you can mix and match them.

Sadly the boots are the old type and those take a bit of adjusting with my somewhat more than average calf's.

And be careful the boots are no copy, one of mine almost left the sim when i made a wrong move *winks*

Tack Essentials : Tails

As with the hooves, there are plenty of options, and a few decisions to make. Again, Morbid Play offer one of my favorite tails, with interactive scripts.

Mesmerise Dungeon offer a tail with training for the size of the plug. You start off with a small one, and after a few hours, can increase the size.

I am currently at 34% after 2 hours and 45 minutess locked in the tail, so it's about 10 hours per level of training. That's 40 hours to go complete it all!

Naturally, these tails come with a few other surprises, which I won't mention just yet.

You can get colourable tails, tails that swish and tails that lock.

Some of the locking tails also include RLV scripts to restrict you further, and naturally these ones are my favourite.

As with most of the other tack, there is no definitive right or wrong choice, you just need to decide what you - or your owner - want from your pony.

My best advice is to make a notepad listing each tail, price and features, to decide which works best for you.

One important thing - if you have a prim harness, or favour a chastity belt, make sure that the tail and your harness/CB do not share the same attachment point. If it does, you will need to relocate one to a different attach place, and edit the tail back to the correct position.

That just about concludes what I consider to be the essentials in tack, and the basics of pony play.

I plan to cover things in a little more depth over the coming weeks, including reviews of pony-related items to be found around Second Life.

So if anyone has any questions, designers want products featured :) or just a pony event coming up - drop me a line and I'll try to work it all in.

Graves - G102 Boots

Deirdre:
Another original pair of boots followed to a store. Don't shop, people-watch. It's a lot faster ;)

These are the G102 boots from Graves, in a very good white, matching their outfits perfectly. They are also available in black and ruby.

There's a couple of cool prim ankle and leg straps included for decoration. To stick to their one attachment point policy on boots, those come right off.

There's a darker white (we call that grey where I'm from) version of the boot, if you want to wear them with something else and the bright version is too much.

The store is beautiful, very clean layout, easy to find things. Don't miss the futuristic reception desk if you visit.

A great boot, a very decent price. Come on, you're probably like me and have way too much black in your wardrobe ;)

Deirdre: Today is a very special day for lelo and me. Two years ago, we met at Desperation Island, and we grew closer over the months, until she asked to marry me. As anniversaries go, wedding days are important, it's true... but we'll never forget the day we met.

lelo: Each and every day i'm amazed at how lucky i am to have found my Deirdre, or better she found me... that's what makes this day so important to us...

lelo:
Jackie Graves has some very interesting designs in her store, one of which are her boots.

The most amazing part about them is the way the prim color matches the color of the cloth-layer shafts.

First time i've seen a match like this, best thing is that you don't have to adjust the prim shaft and it's a sleek looking one as well, well for most. *winks*

Give the shop a look, her designs are very original and the quality is very good.

Latex Station - Nephania Purple

Deirdre:
Here's an outfit for the fetish goths, courtesy of Latex Station : Nephania Purple.

The outfit name may be a homage to Nephania, the swedish goth model.

The open faced hood is fun : the long points on forehead and chin don't work well in real life - they flop, not at all the desired effect.

It's a skin, so make sure you like the heavy goth makeup before you purchase it.

The open-front bra reveals some nipples - we point this stuff out so you don't get surprised.

Good purple color on the stockings and glove, I've seen that color on a lot of RL latex.

Not my favorite outfit of the new series at Latex Station, but that's just a matter of taste.

Maybe with some fangs? ;)

lelo:
13 piece outfit by Latex Station, including all you see here excluding the VvB boots, and leaving a collar and an extra pair of pants in the box.

The skirt is only half there, we checked in the store, and it's really meant like this.

The corset is really nice, same look as the one with the Adalmina outfit we showed you last week, but with a much more interesting texture.

The great thing about this outfit are all the separate parts in it, not sure i would wear it like it's in the box, but the separate parts will see quite some use, especially the corset is very nice.

And have a look at the other colors this outfit is in, this one is the most extreme of the bunch.

DXD - Mistress Corset Boots V2m

Deirdre:
Lelo loves the DXD boots a lot. Is it the dagger heels? The spurs? The laces? All of the above, I think.

These are the Mistress Corset Boots. The back is laced, with a very authentic corset-style knot, in the middle of the boot.

When I put them on, I was amazed. They fit like a glove, which nearly never happens to me.

A closer look revealed that while the ankles fit fine, my calves were sticking out a bit.

Fortunately, the entire boot is one piece, and can be Stretched in Edit mode.

Sadly, now that my calves are ok, the ankles aren't as slender as they were.

Out of the (cool, leather-textured!) box, these boots are blacker than black. A menu allows texture and color combinations.

The boots in our pics have the color "white" and the texture "latex" selected. Laces and boot base can also be colored.

Good boots, decent price, spurs. You can't go wrong ;)

lelo:
Sadly the freebie shoes we wrote about months ago are gone, but Xene's style hasn't changed a bit.

Xene goes her own way, the design of her boots is very industrial with a hint of post apocalyptic, especially in her new rusty line of boots.

The one thing that really is a shame is the total lack of customer service, if she would add that she would be one of the leading designers in SL.

The thing that makes me say this it the fact that we asked her for a comment a couple of times and never got a reply of her and the fact that she seems to have the only right click vendors in SL. :P

All in all a great buy, good shape, good scripting and a good price...

Latex Fetishwear Fashion Week 2009

Hi everyone.. Deirdre and lelo here, with the scoop of the summer!

There's a massive, week-long fetish event being put together even as we speak!

Guess who's going to be official reporter, media coordinator, and second assistant bottle-washer? Read on and find out ;)

Latex Fetishwear Fashion Week 2009, August 9 - 15

The greatest latex designers in SL are coming together for the first time, for a week-long celebration of our love of fetish, fashion and fun!

Join us for what will surely be the fetish event of the summer.

On the menu : custom built stages and shows, professional models, amazing DJs and entertainment, and fabulous parties.

We will hold three fashion shows every day : two by single designers, and one group show, which will be followed by a large afterparty.

The closing event on August 15th will be a huge auction for charity.

Contact information :

Lexie Jansma : Event coordinator for LFFW, has put together shows and events for Extreme Fetishist, SINister, Supreme Fetishist, Twisted Orchid, and SIDHE. She is bringing 2 years experience and enthusiasm to the Latex Fetishwear Fashion Week.

Deirdre Young : media coordinator, is gaining a reputation as a blogger in the SL fetish circles. Her daily blog covers all aspects of Second Life fetish and kink, including latex, femdom, and pony play.

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Naval Patrol

Deirdre:
Yarr! Avast, me hearties! Um, not quite the right naval talk there, but here's Naval Patrol, by Kayliwulf.

Sharp-eyed readers will spot the resemblance to Desert Patrol which we covered last week - oh, we just can't slip one past you guys ;)

This 17-piece outfit (hey, those straps add up!) looks pretty spiffy.. the colors are warm and less military than Desert. Includes number five heels with sound, AO and bling control.

Still, strap on the artillery and you should get some respect in this catsuit.. and I'll close with the word that was on the tip of my tongue since I saw Naval and which just hit me, so to speak...

paintball ;)

lelo:
We just had to show you the blue version of last weeks Kayliwulf Kingdom's post.

And we are showing it with the blue gloves instead of the camo version.

We checked and it works great in hiding you while flying, the things we do for our readers. *winks*

This would be a great buy during one of the Kayliwulf Kingdom BOGO sales, one for flying, one for on the ground.

Tack Essentials : Hooves

Hooves are an important part of any pony's tack.

There are a large number of hooves now available within Second Life, with prices to match this variety.

Hooves often hold the pony sounds and animation override (AO).

The pony AO covers the pony walk and posture (ie, hands held correctly in front), and sounds include the happy clip-clop of pony hooves.

A good set of foot and hand hooves will cost upwards of L$400, so be sure to shop around. Many of the newer hooves also take advantage of the RLV.

The Morbid Play hooves can include an optional sound and AO HUD.

This costs a bit more, but the package is well worth a look.

Mesmerize Dungeon have recently started selling RLV-enabled pony hooves - the foot hooves costing L$650, and hand hooves, sold separately, costing another L$300.

The MD Pony Hooves feature a novel, and frustrating yet strangely compelling mandatory training period.

This heavily impairs your movements until all 4 levels of training are completed, gradually easing the longer you spend in the hooves.

Be warned, as climbing even the slightest hill in these will take forever - and result in much amusement as you keep falling on your rear.

Whilst you can set the strictness of the training, if you opt for these, take the time to enjoy your extended training, and select hard as the training level.

This takes about 4 hours for each of the 4 levels to complete.

My best advice is to not rush into buying the hooves, but to go around a few of the vendors, pricing them up and making a note of the features, and deciding which is the best for you and your requirements.

Remember, the less scripts or prims that make up an object, the less lag will affect you.

And ponies attract lag like flies are attracted to... well, you know.

If you plan to make sim crossings in tack, try to strip as many scripted and prim items as you can from your tack.

This also is good advice if you are trying to shave a precious 1/100th of a second of your times on slalom or other pony events.

Squeaky Rubber - Fusion, Leopard

Deirdre:
A fun leopard print swimsuit from Squeaky, this is Fusion (Leopard)

I don't have a lot of swimsuits I love.. they're either too plain, or shaped wrong for my silhouette.

This one is a cool outfit, and with minimal accessories will go from swimsuit to club wear.

The top has a "transparent" version, where the print and colors are a little faded.. maybe meant to look wet.

The boxes for the Fusion are a bit hard to find : they're in the second row, behind the rubber-skins we featured 2 weeks ago.

I'm sure Elisa will show you where they are if you ask her ;)

lelo:
This Squeaky Rubber outfit is a great swimsuit, but with the right accessories it can be turned into the base of a amazing outfit.

With the kit you get 2 different pairs of gloves (elbow or shoulder), stockings and 2 swimsuits, one with transparency on the breast, all in a lovely leopard print.

The swimsuits come in all the usual Squeaky colors and Elisa will do costume work, just contact her.

The leopard texture really stands out next to the single colored versions.

So, get your own leopard swimsuit, SL's beaches can really use some wild life. *winks*

Latex Station - Adalmina, Pink

Deirdre:
We ran into Ivonne Xue at Twisted Orchid, and she insisted on giving us a tour of Latex Station.

It was a very easy invitation to accept. Latex Station is pretty impressive, and the clothes are beautiful.

So we'll be featuring a few of their designs in the coming weeks.

These are recent additions to the LS line - you know how I love a scoop :)

We'll start with Adalmina, in pink. Most outfits in the new line are available in three colors.

The pink lace looks pretty realistic to me, and the color is neat.

Do drop by the store and see the clothes on the models, you won't regret the visit.

lelo:7 part clubbing outfit from Latex Station, the corset adds a fetish side to the outfit.

The latex and lace mix gives a great effect, and i just love this pink version.

The supplied thong is ... hmmm ... well a thong, or better hardly there. *winks*

The lacy gloves are a fun touch and the stockings are more like short socks.

Finally there is the corset, which has a nice reflection, though the lacing on the back could use a bit of work.

Oeps.. almost forgot to mention the belt, which is fun but the black on black makes it fade a bit.

Still a great clubbing outfit... quite sexy with out showing to much skin.

DaKoira Cao - Black Kamini

Deirdre:
A neat steel ring and latex outfit from DaKoira Cao, this is Black Kamini. There is also a version in red.

The ring mesh is very good, either alone or over the included latex bra.

The panties are open in front - definitely a no-no for non-mature sims, even worn with the included latex pants.

The store is an unpretentious rustic skybox, and I suggest you visit it soon, if you want to take advantage of this cool sale.

In the words of DaKoira himself :

"To celebrate the launch of my new line of latex, I will put 1 of my new line of latex on sale with 50% off.

I won't tell you which one is on sale or on which day, so check back often and grab your favorite outfit for a great price!

Just look for the Dakoira Design logo and click to check the price"

lelo:
Nice little six part outfit, more revealing than PG would allow.

The black has the shine of thick rubber and goes great with the steel mesh body.

The latex bra is an option, just in case you want to reveal some more, great use of layers here.

The latex pants are a bit simple but i love the work he did on the tops of the stockings.

Nice sexy little number, this one will snap some necks for sure. *winks*

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Desert Patrol

Deirdre:
Here's something for the gun lovers : Desert Patrol, the new ensemble from Kayliwulf.

If you need to fade in a desert background while unfriendly strangers (or naughty friends!) are trying their best to kill you, this outfit is for you.

I imagine that you would stand out if you wore this on a dance floor - sort of defeats the idea of camouflage ;)

The latex shine is a little lost in the camo texture.

This is definitely a change from the usual fetish colors - no black or red here. Well, change is fun. Strap on a few guns and ammo belts, and play Sarah Connor!

Hey, maybe Arnold shades would work with this? ;)

lelo:
This is a 17-part outfit, and you see most of them in our pictures.

There is a choice of gloves, i went for the camo instead of the chocolate.

Yes the brown is chocolate, and you where wondering why i was looking so sweet in this *smiles*

I had to adjust the belts to my somewhat muscular legs, too many cart rides i guess, a quick stretch and they fit perfectly.

The now familiar #5 heels are pressed into ankle boot service with this outfit.

This outfit is also available in blue (naval patrol) and pink (kitty patrol) but we thought we needed some more brown in this blog *winks*

If the US army would issue these outfits to the fighting forced i don't think there would be much fighting. "make love, not war"

Tack Essentials : Harness

Whilst a harness is not actually a mandatory part of a pony's tack, it is advised to have at least one.

This allows the hitching of a cart much more easily, and also provides the pony with support and prevents outright nudity, without really covering too much flesh.

There are a vast number of harnesses to be found in Second Life, ranging from as little as L$50 for a clothing layer one, to several hundred L$ for all singing, all dancing scripted prim harnesses.

One word of warning with prim harnesses, they are designed with a body shape that you will most likely find is not even close to your own.

This means a lot of editing of the harness to get it to fit nicely.

Worth the effort if you are happy to try, though I have to admit, I find it less stressful and less damaging to my manicure to get it fitted professionally, even if it means paying extra.

I would advise to take your time before choosing a harness.

As i said before, it is not essential, though it is certainly worth investing in one.

A quick search for "harness" should keep you busy for a while trying to decide on style, function and whether to use those valuable prim attachment points or opt for a clothing layer one.

One of the advantages of a clothing layer harness is being able to wear nipple rings, your collar, tail and perhaps a chastity belt or plug of some kind, yet still look stunning in your tack.

Prim harnesses however can allow more control over the pony - so you have a decision to make - or simply get one of each.

Or more :) After all, that's what the shops are there for and by putting both types into your RLV shared folder, your tack presents options to your owner or trainer.

A catsuit, preferably latex, is also a good purchase whilst we are on this subject.

This provides modesty covering for the pony when visiting places where a nude pony may be either too tempting to the locals, or too naked - either way, it also helps to keep the pony warm in the winter months when out in the paddock.

These again range quite a lot in price and style, including hooded "skin layer" catsuits with closed or open face hoods, or partial open face.

The list of possibilities is endless.

Mesmerize Dungeon now offer a great harness and latex catsuit combo for L$600, so why not take a peek there?

Morbid Play also offer a good range of the prim harnesses, some of which include RLV locks and colour change options.

Guest Blogger : Viktoria Brandenburg

Deirdre here, introducing today's guest blogger : Viktoria Brandenburg, fashionista extraordinaire and designer at VvB, the platform and pencil heel specialist of SL. Enjoy!

Latex

Latex, a lifestyle to some, a Halloween costume to others.

But regardless on which end of the balance beam that you reside, here is some of what I hope will be, some helpful advice.

Latex is a lovely and wondrous material that can literally transform your whole appearance from the ordinary to the extremely sensual; that is, if done well and with a little thought.

There are several aspects you should consider when wanting to put together a stylish look in latex.

The first is quality, the second is coordination, the third is layering and lastly, is accessorizing.

Let us look and see how these aspects come into play with your latex aspirations.

Quality

There are dozens of latex clothing designers out there, and they span the whole range of quality spectrum.

Price is not always the absolute measure of quality.

But unfortunately more often than not, it is.

The better designers, and their designs that I have found, will include multiple parts but also multiple layers for the same parts so that they can be made more functional with a greater variety of accessories.

For example, a shirt will be usable for an undershirt layer or shirt layer, or even a jacket layer; in this way it can be mixed more effectively.

I for one rarely wear any one complete ensemble or outfit straight “off-the-rack”.

And I have been known to buy an entire outfit just to use the top, or the gloves or maybe just the skirt.

Keep this in mind as well that you don’t have to wear an entire outfit for it to look right.

Contacting the designer to buy just one piece from the outfit is also an option.

The better outfits, and hence the better designers, have parts that are cut to where they can match up well with other items not only from their own collections but seem to go well with many others.

But that is for later discussion.

Item Pictures

A good rule of thumb to remember is not to always rely upon the product pictures for how an ensemble will look when worn.

There are too many ways that graphic enhancements can askew something to look better than it is.

The better establishments have live models to show you how these various outfits actually look when worn on your avatar.

Trust that more than the pictures.

Coordination

Definitely a key element in dressing to impress.

Color and sheen are the two important elements here.

No matter how much you spend, if these two things do not coordinate together, the entire ensemble suffers.

Matching colors is such a pain in SL and we all know its depressing effects if it doesn’t happen.

Thank God most latex comes in black, or black and a secondary color.

Blacks, whites and blues tend to be some of the more easy colors to match, but watch out for reds, violet/purples, greens, and others.

Pay attention to color names, pictures and live models.

Each designer often has their own idea of what blood red looks like, and what it means to them for example.

It is often best to buy many of the same color pieces from the same designer so as to match multiple parts from mulitple outfits It also can be easily done with multiple parts from multiple designers by just paying attention and being observant.

Sheen

Sheen is the amount of shininess the latex inherently has.

Again, some designers have extremely reflective latex and some do not.

This is NOT a drawback.

The amount of reflectiveness or shininess that latex has does not indicate it is better or worse.

Either can be wonderful if you match them together with items that have approximately the same amount of sheen.

I personally have the whole range of dull shine to extreme shine in my collection and they both can work if properly matched.

Again, just be observant and match the parts.

Layering

This is one of my favorite things to do with my wonderful shiny latex.

Most latex aficionados will understand this concept only too well.

Layering is extremely important to achieve the unique look that defines you.

Anyone can go and buy a latex outfit and simply throw it on and walk out the door, and that is exactly what it will look like.

But with some creative layering of latex items, new looks can be achieved and your overall appearance can be dramatically enhanced.

For example, the black latex catsuit : put it on alone, and... there you are. Not much of an impression.

But when a catsuit is worn as an undershirt and underpants layer, you have a whole world of enhancements that can be “layered” on top of it, using the shirt, jacket, pants and socks layers.

Using a whole line of corsets, straps, stockings, garters, and skirts.

With layering, you can really make an impression.

And there is nothing more satisfying than knowing the one you love is wearing a garter belt and stockings under their dress.

When doing your layering, pay attention to how the layers overlap or fail to overlap.

Your ensemble can sometimes succeed or fail on how your mixing and matching of pieces can overlay one another.

Always do a 360 degree check on how things are looking when you add pieces and layers.

I also have found that without layering sometimes a little too much becomes exposed and takes the look from one of sensual elegance straight into the gutter.

Now some people like and want that, but I tend to prefer only a small alluring hint of flesh to be exposed.

Two prime examples are the chest areas just above the bosom or the upper thighs just above the stocking tops.

Very fun but not overly lewd.

Good latex skins can also be extremely useful as the ultimate underlayer on which to build a dramatic latex fashion statement.

Accessorizing

Lastly, accessories : the ultimate outer layer.

This is one that tends to be a bit tricky as some jewelry and other fun accessories (such as collars) don't fit very well.

Always be sure to fit your accessories as well as you can to the various parts of the body.

I would include any prim skirts and dresses in this catagory.

To do this well, you should turn off your AO, turn the region time to midday and get somewhere well lit and really look at yourself.

You will quickly find where the problems occur.

Pay close attention to the metal parts of the various clothing you wear.

These are normally corset buckles, boot buckles, etc.

If they are silver, wear silver jewelry, if they are gold (rarely) wear gold jewelry - you comprehend the idea.

And for those who do not like the annoying way a skirt forms that awful line/bulge at the waist, invest in a wide variety of belts.

I find that belts can really smooth and hide that inconvenient way a skirt (skirt layer) fits to the body.

This also applies to prim skirts as well.

And having a wide variety allows more options for your ensemble depending on the occasion, and you can now wear skirts again to bring even more variety.

If you follow my advice above, I believe that your latex experience will not only be of a more enjoyable nature but will encourage you to dress the part more often.

Once you have an ensemble together you can always bring it out again for the right occasion.

Enjoy yourselves and have a wonderful Second Life.

Thank you.

N-Core - SHARK

Deirdre:
Some fancy sandals with prim toes from N-Core, these are the Shark model, maybe named for the cool rows of tiny spikes - they look like shark's teeth to me.

The heel is wicked, like the rest of the N-Core shoes, and the prim work is astonishingly good.

(A quick note : we get a prim display bug when zooming in, so there are no missing spikes or bits of chain - it's just our "camera". Linden Labs is doing their best, Linden Labs is doing their best...)

When you visit the store, make sure to stop at the counter in the shoe section (at your right when facing in) and pick up the freebie gifts.

You'll have to join the group to get them, but getting notices about excellent shoes and boots isn't a fate worse than death.

There are more on the second floor : freebies, dollarbies, and cheapies. Someone at N-Core clearly understands SL marketing ;)

lelo:
I really like the way they hide your foot and replace it with a full prim foot/shoe, even if it's a bit prim heavy (200 prims per shoe).

The menu on these is even more impressive than the one in the Stylus shoes.

You can control the color of the most parts of the shoes, including the heel, sole, and the shoe itself.

You get 8 colors for the shoes, two blues, yellow, white, orange, pink, black and the red shown here.

The accessories, like the ring, ankle chain and spikes can be turned off and on and you can change their color.

The skin color can be changed with the HUD but once again in my case the preset worked fine.

The HUD has been improved giving you quick access to all the shoe options.

Hugo's Design - *HD* Net Suit

Deirdre:
This is the last piece on that amazing recent batch at Hugo's Design, Net Suit.

Erik produced this excellent fishnet and latex texture, and used it to make a few excellent outfits.

See Net Cat for the full-body effect.

We featured Net Suit here for the panties - makes the outfit a touch more PG ;)

Once again, Hugo's Design has a good web site - well worth keeping an eye on.

lelo:
Another lovely textured item from Hugo's design, the latex fishnet effect is very detailed.

You get all the layers, and as you can see in the third picture, the effect of wearing two layers is quite interesting.

The top comes in a tank top and a sleeved version, i just love the belt under the breasts.

He has also included some nice long black latex gloves and stockings.

A very nice base for a night on the town... down town that is.. *winks*

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Halls Of Justice

Deirdre:
Kayliwulf introduces a new superheroine costume, and like Daughter of Comedy, it's a winner.

This is Halls of Justice - don't you love those clever names? - and lelo looks pretty heroic in it.

And since we may look forward to other costumes (no inside information here, just hoping!) we'll start a "costumes" tag so you can keep track.

Just for fun, here's a cool Wonder Woman clip set to some of our favorite music.

lelo:
11 parts in this outfit and only 3 of them are clothlayer, including the shoe shape.

So the smart readers will have figured out that there are 8 prim items included.

These include the famous golden lasso, tiara and bracelets.

Also the first prim boot shafts we have seen from Kayliwulf, a very nice addition to the type 4 heels.

They need some adjustment, but they are full mod, which makes it somewhat easier, no copy though so be careful.

Now if i only could remember where i parked the invisible plane... *winks*
