Pony Places: Island of Questionable Virtues

Questionable Virtues is a purpose-built island for ponyplay. And a wonderful one it is, too.

The whole sim has a Mediterranean beach side resort feel to it, and even the rental homes there continue this theme with good effect.

On first landing on the island, immediately on your left (if you land facing the same way I did anyway) there is a dressage field. Perfect to get right on with some practise.

Rental homes to your right and in front of you, and a steeple course just beyond the dressage make sure you don't forget this is a pony sim.

Head north from the landing point, past the dressage and you enter the stable area and slalom courses. If you are quick, my time is still on the slalom score board - in top place!

Now that I've said that, no doubt I will be bumped off the list in short order.

Next to the slalom are some pony walkers, and a bench in case you need to sit down - a great thought.

Some of the stalls in the stable block are reserved for pony residents, however empty ones are freely available for the use of guests.

Heading north from the stable, passing a pony wash area takes you past the entrance to the steeple.

Continuing along this path takes you past a door under a mountain to a small uncluttered dungeon.

Beyond this is a dark Gothic church and a training academy to help improve one's erotic role play skills. Nice touch and some people could really benefit from that.

(Green chat spamming genitals spring to mind?) Next to the academy is Club Desolation, home of "Pony slut Radio". How can you not love this?

A photo studio rests next door to the club and a little exploration to the south takes you to the market area with almost exclusively pony items, and then to the beach.

A quick elevator ride up the mountain will take you to the meeting place of the SL Ponygirls Club if you cross the narrow bridge, or to a lovely communal informal area to lounge in the sun.

All around the island the pathways are good and straight and wide, allowing for plenty of excuses to hitch a pony to a cart to admire the scenery.

QV is a lovely place to relax with your pony, I am just surprised the island is as quiet as it is. Though that is a bonus when you wish to relax or escape lag.

This is one of those sims you simply must visit.

Places - The Little Shop Of Kink

A while back, our friend Kat Fetisov of KCreations called us over to visit her new location, a cool little mall called Little Shop of Kink.

We met the owner, Tess Whitcroft, and watched the place fill up with neat fetish and bondage stores... well, now is the time to tell you about it :)

The mall part is under the two main domes (which I affectionately refer to as "the boobies").

As a little reminder, KCreations' freebie boxes are there, with latex Tattoo Layer skins for the Second Life beta viewer. Kat is nothing if not bleeding-edge!

There is more there than just a mall, though. A nice teleporter sign post will take you to the places of interest.

An art gallery is currently showing some fun Golden Age bondage-themed comic-book covers, and some lovely black and white art.

A small, intimate dance club is available if you want to dance or sit and socialize. The decor is very cool and futuristic.

There is a little park/playground with a number of cages to leave your slave for a while *winks*

The Laboratory (a sky box 278m in the air) is perfect for doll play, and features some great toys.

A third boobie, the Bondarium, is not yet finished (as you can tell by the missing nipple). The name is pretty suggestive, however.

Definitely worth visiting.

Restrained Freedom - Leg Binders

We were given the landmark to Restrained Freedom some time back... neither of us can remember who it was. We're getting old ;)

The visit was fun, as we ran into the owner, Katie Paine - bound and gagged like a true bondage bunny.

I was going to do the interview in gag talk and transcribe it here... but eh, some days I feel lazy, so I ungagged her.

The dear little neko's been making bondage toys for two years, a really long time in SL, as I will never tire of repeating.

She started for the best reason : she wanted mummification gear, and there wasn't any around.

After a couple of years of work, she has a very nice variety of bondage toys to show - they're all on display in the basement, do go down and give them a try.

A new dance club below the dungeon welcomes bondage lovers. I wonder how you dance in a leg binder?

You get a few freebies when you touch the group sign. And a nice little roof mall sells related bondage gear, so if you drop by, you can get a lot of different bondage toys all at once - bring lots of money ;)

Finally another RLV toy for your enjoyment, the RF leg binders.

To be honest when i first put these on we both were thinking they looked like weird belted legwarmers, but all that changed when Mistress locked them on to me.

When locked you get a lovely zipper at the front and some fun lacing's on the back, but more importantly your legs are locked together and you can only hop around... when your owner allows that. *winks*

The scripting is very complete offering the usual RLV options, loads of colors in leather and latex textures and of course the key and lock options that make these toys so much fun for bondage bunnies like me.

So a great addition to the toy chest, binding the legs in a much more interesting way as the usual shackles.

Shiny Girl - Thong Swimsuit Black

Well, when designers shove each other out of the way to be featured on our blog, I'll be pretty amazed ;)

In the meantime, we do get the occasional call by someone who's heard of us and who wants to show us some nice things. I'll never get bored of that.

So here's a lovely latex swimsuit by Shiny Girl, a small but fun latex store owned by SlavegirlPaula Masukami ("call me paula").

The store is around a tree - first time we see that layout. Good pictures of the outfits are displayed on the outside "walls", and the vendors are around the tree itself.

Good looking little swimsuit from Shiny Girl tonight.

The suit comes in both under and upper clothlayer so you can mix and match with tatoos and upperwear.

The usual joint between the upper and lower half hardly shows, mostly because of the smart texture.

A texture that is very good looking, gives the feel of rubber which hasn't been polished to a complete shine.

The cut is very sexy and just about PG, but only just. *winks*

Ohh, better wear some rainclothes or take an umbrella with you, seems it's always raining in the store...

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Mardi Gras

Festive colors.. it's the least we can say about this new outfit by Kayliwulf, called Mardi Gras.

It features the famous Kayliwulf laced stockings and gloves with contrasting gold eyelets, matching the corset back lacing.

The yellow lace at the sleeves and collar matches the yellow petticoat.

The laces at the back of the corset are attached to the chest and the lace collar attaches to the spine - if you're wearing a collar, it's pretty sure to be displaced by one of those, so you may want to shuffle things around.

Get dressed and go dance.. Carnival!!!

Mardi Gras is a 16 part outfit which makes a bold color statement.

I do love Laz's short little skirts, the way they move while you walk looks so very sexy, and the added lace really works for me.

Unlike other designers who add clothing items in all layers, with Laz you get a full outfit, including underwear, so no need to try all the items, click on the folder and wear it.

With this one you get the lovely heel 4 shoeshape in a thigh high boot version, still love the no fuss use of the clothlayer shafts, no adjustments needed.

One thing is for certain, you'll really stand out in a crowd with this little number.

Pony Roleplay - a Dying Art?

After a recent visit to an older pony stable, I got to talking with the owner and we reminisced a little over the earlier days of pony play in Second Life.

One of the topics that came up was how the skill or role playing seems to be disappearing from ponyplay, replaced by the more convenient "click on hud" features.

Now whilst I don't totally agree that the art of roleplay is almost gone, I did find myself agreeing that the roleplay element is less pronounced.

And as my conversation partner has been involved in the scene much longer than I, this decline in roleplay was more apparent to them than to myself.

More frustratingly for me, was the fact that I realised that I too was falling into the HUD clicking trap.

With advancement in scripts, it is now far easier to just click a HUD button to convey a pre-made emotive statement, than to try and be original and emote something.

This is both a good thing, and a bad thing.

There used to be a time when your Owner or trainer would roleplay hitching a pony to a cart. Now, with RLV, the pony can simply be made to sit.

But wouldn't it be so much more enjoyable to the pony if they were led between the shafts of the cart, their harness checked, adjusted, and then secured to it instead?

And a pony doesn't just magically click a couple of buttons and suddenly, they are transformed from a human in a ball gown to a hooved, bitted and tailed ponygirl.

Why not emote removing their human clothing and then being helped into their tack?

Why not add some spark of personality instead of a simple whinny, snort, or stomp?

Naturally, on the other hand, I do feel the HUDS have their uses, especially when pulling a cart.

Rather than stop, type out an emote, then resume your ride, the pony can click on the HUD to express their enjoyment of the ride.

So, why not experiment a little more, stop being so lazy? Ponies, Owners and Trainers alike all need to make that extra effort and show some creative spark of personality.

To finish, and on a different note, so far I would like to thank the one - yes 1 - person who has offered nominations to the article about pony awards.

Is this really the size of the pony play community?

Come on, it's just for fun unless someone can really help organize an awards ceremony, so pony up some responses. Please!

The Abyss - Pruriency Corset

Pruriency, Merriam-Webster tells us, means something which is "marked by or arousing an immoderate or unwholesome interest or desire; especially : marked by, arousing, or appealing to sexual desire."

Is that the best definition ever, or what? :)

This corset, then, is prurient : I predict that when you wear it, you will be the the object of much unwholesome interest.

It is a 19 part kit; subtract three from that for notes and picture, but the rest is no less than three different versions of the corset.

One, in fact, is so different that in most stores it would be called another outfit altogether.

There is the prim-assisted version, which I am modeling here, a clever no-prim version (with and without ruffles), and the third is a long-line leather bra with shoulder straps but no buckles in front, just a tiny buckle on the panties.

Make sure to read the adjustment note : it has good tips on how to make sure the prim parts look best when you stretch them.

A gorgeous, detailed masterpiece; I am really impressed with the detail of the top ruffles in particular.

Normally i'm the one wearing the corsets, but this one is so breathtakingly beautiful that Mistress is modeling it for you.

In most cases when we say: see it, love it, buy it, the name and SLURL to the store sits in our little notebook for some time, but in this case we were at the store before the corset had fully rezzed.

The store is a must-see for all lovers of post-apocalyptic architecture, though it may take a while on a slow connection, it's worth the wait.

If you like leather wear, you should really give the items at the store a good look, the products are very well made.

Ohh and give the gasmask a good look, they might come up in a future post.

VirToys - Black Sin Lovedoll Avatar

One of our friends called Downy Swain, of VirToys, and suggested she get in touch with us.

A few hours later, we were visiting VirToys with this tiny charming pixie... and discussing sex dolls and breast implants :)

Downy produces toys that are a little more hard-core than our usual topics in here, but we agreed that fetish isn't just about pretty boots - a little variety shouldn't kill us.

Lets start with the basic kit, it comes with everything needed for a Avatar, a lovedoll Avatar in this case.

Spider Productions - Reg Buckle 3 layer hole/hole Black (steel) belt

We were wandering around Spider's store - you could play paintball in there, it's so big - and I saw the belts.

Well, I'm always looking for good belts, as all the ones I find don't shrink enough.

I picked up this one without too much hope, but lo and behold, it resized down to my hip size (here's an actual quote from a rude designer I am oh so tempted to name : "why not make your hips normal?" Go to hell, unnamed designer, go to hell.)

So. Spider Carnot, gentleman and excellent designer.

Go see him. Give him money, and buy his wonderful, well-fitting belts.

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Latex Kung Fu Uniform

It's Hidden Tiger, Crouching Dragon! Um, someone's hidden and someone's crouching. Whatever ;)

This gorgeous Kung Fu outfit from Kayliwulf ties in nicely with the Chinese New Year.

And I just had to dust off my moves.. this is Hero Standing Pose 16, from Sine Wave.

The outfit is good, and manages to give a feeling of looseness (well, the jacket does).

There is also a t-shirt included, for working out on hotter days, no doubt.

The heliotrope demo looks particularly good in this model, I find. Get a bunch of friends over and start a pink ninja clan!

Just kidding, you can obviously see this is a Kung Fu uniform, black is the classic color for this one but we think that the bright colors work better.

To get the best effect out of this outfit you better look for a good tai chi animation.

All fun aside i really like what Laz has done with this one, especially the use of a skirt as the bottom of the coat is a great idea.

And the shine could double as the shine of silk, so quite wearable in non-fetish sims.

There are two almost freebies to test, including the shown Heliotrope, which a lot of you real Kayliwulf Kingdom fans will have loads of. *smiles*

Pony Play on the Web

For a change of pace, and while I get over a hectic RL week, I thought I should mention some other sources of pony play that I found interesting.

One of the best, if not the best, free ponyplay Web site has to be Sir Jeff's.

This was the first dedicated ponyplay Web site I found all those years ago, and it is still going strong.

Updates are now irregular, weighing in with a new update every 4 to 6 weeks instead of the previous once a week as of a few years ago.

But having said that, there is a library of stories, some going on over many updates. Then there is the artwork.

Truly, there are some really talented, imaginative and creative people out there.

Also featuring real photos and video of ponygirls, this is a one stop shop for all things pony to help get some ideas sparked.

And if you really feel up to it, why not read a story from there, then try to illustrate it using SL photos? Then submit them to Sir Jeff's site for instant kudos.

Sir Jeff's was the website that drew me into Second Life, and so it has a fond and dear place in my heart.

A story written by a friend of mine a few years ago, inspired by me in a roundabout way, has even been featured on the site.

I can't make a higher recommendation than that.

Hugo's Design - M3 & Suba

We're a bit swamped in new Hugo's releases, so we're running two together tonight.

lelo and I are modeling the M3 outfit, in the two variations: body, and top plus pants.

It's a neat design, with discreet teal highlights and lots of buckles on the body version.

Some unusual white blue and red bands visible in slashes on the arms and legs suggest that you're wearing Chevron underwear. ;)

The Suba harness was released just today so we just had to squeeze it in.

It looks terrific over a catsuit, as you can see on lelo, or by itself, as you see on the vendor pic.

Suba is available in Baby Pink, Hard Pink, Purple, Red, White and Black.

Little PG-rating helper hearts not included.

I'm wearing the M3 body plus and with Hugo plus means loads of options.

And with loads of options i mean the 21 items in the cute little bag.

As usual the items come in most layers, giving you options like a body, some chaps, a jacket... and on and on.

You'll also get a great looking pair of stockings with a nice seam across the back, and no adjusting needed. *winks*

M3 will keep you combining for days if not weeks so great value for money here, though you might get lost in the many combinations.

The Suba is another thing altogether, a nice and simple belt harness, completed with a pair of gloves and stockings and as usual in all the layers.

Get them while they are hot....

PixelFashion and Neurolab - Ultimate Boots

We've seen stiletto boots, but this is the first needle heel I find :)

These Ultimate boots by Pixelfashion/Neurolab have a detailed and realistic leather texture, and a very good foot shape.

The fit is excellent; the small size fit me right out of the box, with the assistance of a small invisiprim, didn't even have to use the resize menu.

Anything that minimizes the fuss of fitting and adjusting is good, to my mind.

A neat bit of info I swiped from their XStreetSL page :

When you change the boot color, the "Ultimate Jewels Set" will change the color of the jewel to match your boots automatically.

If someone proclaims to have the ultimate boots we just have to check them out. *winks*

The boots come in all kinds of colors, and are grouped per color range, like with most hair packs in SL.

In each pack you get 4 colors, but if you like the look and are a frequent costume changer, you can get a fat pack containing all 29 colors.

In the pack you'll find the boots in 3 sizes, seems i'm a medium, the footshape and invisi prims to hide your feet, finally there is an English and French manual supplied.

The menu offers 3 options, with texture you can choose one of the 4 colors in the pack, with re-size you can adjust your boot size and the sound option controls the sound, nice and simple just the way we like them. *smiles*

So, great textures, many, many colors, easy to fit, wonderful shape, leaves only the heel which is a matter of taste, i would say the name is well chosen.

Places - Rubber Room

We decided at the beginning of 2010 that we'd make an effort to cover more places, even though there just aren't that many good fetish spots around.

Well, the Rubber Room is a really good fetish club.

It's been around for quite a while, as clubs go : the owner, Rubber Robonaught, opened 10 months ago.

Rubber Room is quite active : there are daily parties at 2PM and 6PM SLT, regular sponsored events, and a nice fetish crowd in the club a lot of the time.

The fixed landing zone plops you above a mall with numerous fetish stores. Malls support clubs : do take a moment to shop around ;)

From there you click on large teleporter signs downstairs, and head to the club, or its associated play space, the MGM dungeon.

The dungeon is run by Master Gary Millet, and features serious roleplay and RLV-enabled bondage devices. It is open to everyone.

The club is home to a number of rubberdolls, and there's nothing quite like seeing a half-dozen dolls sitting around sofas or dancing together in gas masks, VvB Boots and assorted gear... not a pair of jeans in sight ;)

The staff is friendly, the management is helpful and pleasant.. there's a lot to like at this club, aside from the obvious.

Rubber Room is quite a find, and fast becoming one of our favorite spots. See you there!

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Hot Stuff

A good red outfit, just in time for Valentine Day, this is Hot Stuff, from Kayliwulf Kingdom.

The nice red fluff on the top is some of Lazarus's best work, like the pom-poms in the cheerleader's outfit.

Tricky stuff, fur, with a high prim load, but worth it. Just don't wear it to a fashion show, the models will kill you ;)

The toe sandals look good as always, but require a bit of management. See lelo's bit for details.

With this one you get a nicely filled box with 19 items, ok 3 of those are notecards.

Still next to the simple but good looking outfit you get 2 pairs of shoes and some nice jewelry.

One pair is a nice red version of the strap sandals and the other are the strap pumps featured with the Time Square outfit.

A little note on the strap sandals: don't forget to wear the invisifeet with them, or you'll see your feet peeking out at every side while you walk around.

The jewelry consists of a pair of ruby earrings and a bellybutton ring.

The bra with the flared pants leave more than enough of your belly exposed to show off your ruby bellybutton ring.

The fuzzy bodice is a lag monster with a render cost of 3407, but it looks ooh so good.

So nice basic outfit with a couple of great extras that will fill out your wardrobe.

Pony Awards

I had an inspiration recently : why don't we have a Pony Play Awards Ceremony?

Why shouldn't you, the Pony community, tell newcomers what you feel is the best bridle, the best sim to run about on, and so on?

Ok sure, I got the honor of writing this column, but, how about some feedback?

Nicky Ree - Dynamic League F Suit Blue

Sometimes we follow an item to a store, and find a better one.. that's half the fun of this little project of ours, finding the cool and unexpected treasures.

We had noted to look up Nicky Ree's store for some good-looking boots, but when I saw this outfit, I wanted it instantly.

Was it the cape? Definitely. But the excellent colors, and cool chest letter didn't hurt.

So here I am, mild-mannered blogger by early evening, and caped crusader with a lightning D on my chest by night.

The gadget belt comes with a spray can, so I apparently have graffiti powers of some kind. Cool :)

I think all it needs is a good mask - sadly we've found that they're quite rare.

There's a male version of the suit, and I should mention that the letters are a separate purchase from the suit.

I'll get you, Catwoman!

We'll continue last nights super heroine's theme with the Dynamic League F suit from Nicky Ree.

The outfitt comes complete with prim boots, belt and cape and a hand held spraycan.

The five layers give the cape an nice full look and she did a great job on the flex settings, making them flow nicely.

The use of lightblue, dark blue and black on the catsuit is great and what's not to love about the big D on Mistress chest.

POC - The Cat Skin

A detailed and authentic Catwoman look from Batman Returns, this is The Cat Skin from Powers of Creations.

It's available in multiple colors (chocolate, cyan, gray, green, orange, pink, red, skyblue, violet, white, yellow, blood, blue and black), so I guess that - I know, you saw it coming a mile away - there's more than one way to skin a cat ;)

The mask is very good, and the pale skin and heavy makeup are faithful to the movie.

The seams remind us that anyone with an old PVC raincoat and a sewing machine can make a Catwoman outfit. Sigh. I want to be in the movies.

The original Catwoman outfit was designed by Syren Latex of Los Angeles, and was displayed in 2008 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC for the "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" exhibit.

It's been a while since we had the lovely shine of POC latex in our blog, so it was high time to correct that.

Well the good news is, the shine is just as lovely as it always was, in my opinion the best shining latex in SL, in RL you would have to polish like mad to get a shine like this.

Like the name says you get a skin, or actually, you get 4 of them: 2 hoods-only and 2 full skins, one of each with the lovely stitches.

There is the usual downside too the fact that its a skin, you'll lose your own "face", but we can't blame a designer for SL's short comings.

The ears are a fun little extra that completes the outfit, giving you the look of the only real catwoman, well she was to me.. *winks*

Now kitteh needs some milk.... *purrs*

Maison Broceliande - MMMBoots

Some weeks ago, lelo spotted someone wearing some really awesome boots at Rubber Room. A quick inspect revealed they were from Maison Broceliande.

I called Yhis and asked her if I had missed a release.. she was fairly astonished, until I mentioned that the person wearing them was her friend.

So no, I hadn't been asleep at the switch, the boots were simply not out yet :)

There was still work to do on the numerous scripts. So here we are, a few weeks later, and the lovely MMMBoots are available.

Anyone who's seen a bit of John Willie art will recognize the boot style favored by Secret Agent U-69 in Sweet Gwendoline.

So, a gorgeous boot with stunning textures - zoom in on the leather seams! - and incredible prim work. What's not to love?

Woohoo... a new Maison Broceliande item... it's been a while, but it was worth the wait.

Well no way to get around it, those heels are amazing and i can just imagine them on a pair of balletboots. *wink wink nudge nudge*

When i saw the beautifull leather texture on the boots i just had to show them with the wonderfull alien leather catsuit from Brushed Reality.

Ok back to the boots or better the scripting in them, something you don't see in most fashion boots.

And as MB is primarily a BDSM label you won't be surprised that the boots are RLV enabled.

Next to an owner list and the usual lock options, you can change the colors of most prims on the boots, control the boots AO and change the volume of the boots.

A fun extra is the hobble walk which chains the boots and and slows down the wearer and stops them from jumping and flying.

Finally she will be offering free texture packs so you can personalize your boots even more.

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Black Tiger

"Sadly, yes... yes it does" ;)

A lovely cheongsam from Kayliwulf, this is Black Tiger (and Red Tiger, sold separately).

The tiger design is quite subtle and vanishes somewhat in the latex shine.

I think it was brilliant to repeat it on the gloves.. the effect is that of embroidery on a silk dress.

The overall look is really elegant. I received compliments while wearing it around fetish spots, where you expect patrons to have seen more than a few outfits before.

Pick one up and go turn some heads :)

With the Tiger ensemble you get a nine piece outfit and Laz is looking east with this outfit.

The Black and Red are each others opposites and i think the Black one looks best but then i guess i'm a bit biased.

You get a nice latex bra and string which, when you are brave enough, you could wear to the beach.

Some leggings which will hide your legs when you stretch your dress to much, another little annoying feature of SL.

The stiletto pumps are one of Laz's older designs, but work great with the style of the dress.

And finally there is the dress with a pair of matching evening gloves.

Just one question: "Does my butt look big in this dress??" *winks*
