Pony Places : Crystal Palace/Meriland

Continuing from last weeks feature on Crystal Palace, there is so much more to the sim that I first realised, I felt it warranted a further details.

Rezzing in outside the barn in Meridas, to the East, following the path takes you past a steeple course, which I have been told, allows multiple ponies to run at the same time.

This is as far as I know, unique in SL.

Following the path in a north easterly direction takes you to an old western themed area known as Shanatown.

Complete with its own saloon and stable area for ponygirls, the saloon includes a nice area to dance with your loved ones, while remaining in touch with the pony play aspect.

Ambling in a Northerly direction past Shanatown, takes you past a building I haven't discovered the purpose of and into Harlech royal Hall, where there is another pony steeple course laid out.

Continuing north past the steeple, there are some small boats in the water, in case you feel like taking a different mode of transport.

Passing the boats still bearing North takes you past the Great Hall proper, which has dance balls available for those romantic nights dancing.

Still going north takes you into Meriland, and into Vanessa's castle - and yes, the first thing I saw here was another pony steeple. No pony can get bored here.

Around the perimeter of the steeple is a pony trap (cart) race track, which allows for multiple racers at the same time, and the start is in the north eastern corner from the steeple.

To the west of the steeple is Harlech Castle, named after a real castle in Wales. The courtyard of the SL castle again caters to ponies, with a set of Royal pony stalls, as well as a place to practise archery SL style.

Still further exploration in the area wher the cart race starts will see a yacht club - something that when added to everything else here, offers something for almost everyone, pony or otherwise.

Lots to keep just about anyone amused for ages, and definitely somewhere I would recommend visiting.

And I hear that there is also an airport, car race track and more to find still.

Perhaps a vacation spot?

Rubber Kittens - General Nurse

Deirdre:
Continuing our Hallowe’en theme, this is a sexy nurse outfit.. well, for some of us ;)

This is the General Nurse outfit, from Rubber Kittens. It’s a pretty striking look, especially with the eyepieces.

The ball hands are semi-transparent. No reason they shouldn’t be, I suppose, but it’s the first time we see this.

The rest of the outfit is midnight black and bright red.

Little red crosses here and there and the nurse cap testify that you’re a rubber nurse, qualified to administer the long list of “medical” treatments that generally require tubes of some sort ;)

As you can see from the vendor pic below, the outfit is available in black/red and white/red.

As usual this is a full outfit by Rubber Kittens, including a skin and shape.

you get 23 items in all, of with the jugs are the item that stands out the most. *winks*

Another fun item is the cap which comes with 4 different colored pony tails, you can choose black, blond, brunette and red. I hope one of those matches you hair color.

The other thing that comes in two color options are the pants, here you get red or black.

All the prim parts come with a good working re-size script, which can delete itself when it’s no longer needed, as all the parts are copy i would advice you to delete the script when done.

The boots are simple but work with this outfit and have sound and an AO.

The goggles and gag-ball give you a alien look, good for some SF role-playing.

Fun outfit for a beginner on SL or if you want a complete different look for a well lets say Halloween party. *smiles*

Think Kink - Restrained Halloween

Deirdre:
We dropped by Think Kink on a special mission (we’ll keep you posted on the results!) and noticed that the girls have been busy.

In the store entrance is a big display of Hallowe’en-themed new releases - some as recent as yesterday!

If you’re doing a Hallowe’en dungeon theme, run, don’t walk, to Think Kink.

We picked a few samples to show you : the first picture is poor lelo hanging from the Back Cracker, a fierce assemblage of skulls and vertebrae ;) It features some very good scripting, and even facial expressions for the victim.

The second picture is lelo chained to a more conventional Saint Andrew’s cross. Well, aside from the skeletal hands and what have you ;)

I also threw in a vendor pic to show you a bit of what you’re getting : Lulu and Lockmeister cuffs, Sensations and Xcite! compatible.. there’s a lot of good work in those toys.

As with the other toys we reviewed from Think Kink the scripting is very solid, this is version 501, so they keep fine tuning it.

I love the way they brought a Halloween theme to the toys, and i’ve seen dungeons where these skull and bones will look right in place.

There is a big selection so something for everyone, ohh and one hot tip, try the grave : it has some special surprises, no we’re not telling, check it out yourself. *smiles*

As before the toys hand out all kinds of (dangerous) goodies, like cuffs, whips and a very good RLV Relay.

So if you want to bring some Halloween spirits into your front garden or want to spruce up your dungeon, these will definitely do the job and you never know what you’ll catch with the graboid option. *winks*

AiTech - Anime Head

Deirdre:
A fun variation on a full face hood, this is AI Tech’s Anime Head.

This is for kigurumi fans : a special variety of cosplay getting more popular with doll enthusiasts in Japan, and slowly spreading across the world as Japanese cartoons and comics become more popular.

And just so you don’t think we’re getting lazy and letting Wikipedia do all our research for us, here’s a pretty anime maid costume. We take kinks seriously over here, ok? ;)

We know doll play is a popular topic in SL, even though the doll crowd is a little... quiet? static? inactive? Well, no matter : to them, those are good things!

So if a Japanese cartoon character costume sounds like a fun Halloween idea to you, drop by AiTech’s and pick up this inexpensive mask, and have fun!

When we talked to Asami she told us that the head was “the most modder-friendly head in Second Life”.

So when i wore it i was a bit disappointed with the options in the menu, here you can change the eye color, look happy or mad, change the skin tone and blush.

But when i read the note things became clear, this is not menu modding this is texture and script modding, the head is full moddable, from texture to scripts all can be changed.

Asami even provides links to the original Photoshop and GIMP images, so you can adapt them to your personal likings.

Finally when talking in locale chat the true genius of this mask becomes clear, the mouth animation is very good and convincing.

This mask is extremely fun, not sure if i’m going to mod it, but i’m sure we’ll have some fun with it anyway. *winks*

Immerschoen - Halloween Latex Catsuit and Latex Romper Suit

Hallowe’en is just around the corner, and the seasonal outfits are coming out :)

Lelo is wearing the new Immerschoen Latex Catsuit and I have the Romper Suit H2, Hallowe’en version (with Pixelfashion’s Ultimate boots, if you’re wondering - the red ones have this good orange texture).

The torn fishnet suit adds a certain touch to the outfit.. punk? careless with scissors? I’m not sure, but it’s fun ;)

If you wear the whole outfit, you take up four clothing layers, leaving only the jacket layer free.

The reflections on the orange outfit are amazing, and look like very good quality PVC, rather than latex.

Drop by Immerschoen and see the other Hallowe’en outfits in the pumpkin cart... mind the bats ;)

Well here is Germany’s twist on Halloween, seems they get it just as much as i do. *winks*

That said, this still is one of the most sexy Halloween outfits yet, i especially like the transparent panels under the breasts.

You get two options for the pants, flared like worn here and tight fitting.

The lacing on the gloves are a fun touch giving them something extra.

You also get color matched pumps in the kit, one orange one black, so you won’t be wearing those with some other outfit, well you might if you still have an old two tone monochrome monitor.

Finally there is a Halloweeny bat tattoo in the kit, which comes in underwear and surprise, surprise tattoo layer. *smiles*

Get them while they are hot, i’m sure there will be a Halloween party or two this coming weekend and i’m sure you’ll get some attention in these little outfits.

Crystal Palace

I couldn't decide whether this was primarily a pony store, or a place of interest, and so I have not labeled it as either.

It is both. One thing that did surprise me was how I had not discovered this before now.

I would describe Crystal Palace as a place for the more discerning pony and or trainer; cheap or freebie items will not be found here.

Rezzing in sim at the landmark places you just outside a brick building, which when entering you learn is a barn.

Beautifully landscaped surroundings and an authentic barn feel create a warm atmosphere. A small group of stalls lined with hay and a few carts are just inside at the right.

A small but well-designed steeplechase track is also just outside the barn.

Water troughs line the immediate area, and, inside the barn is a teleport to the store.

A demo cart rezzer can be found near the teleporter, and when clicking it you are given a choice of size carts. The carts are no modify so you need to choose the cart best suited to your avatar shape.

A word of warning. The carts are not cheap, so make sure to take the time to test which shape cart best fits your avatar.

Teleporting to the shop finds a rather interesting looking pony tail, a selection of drinking troughs and the carts.

Cart vendors can be found near the southeastern corner of the shop and prices of the cart range from L$1200 for the Cabriolet Practique models to L$2200 for Regence.

Note that by default, the cart is owned by the pony and can only be pulled by her. If you're a trainer and you want to own a cart any pony can pull, you can request customization from Alecia Ashbourne.

Sitting on the nearby carts laid out in store, you find a well made seated set of sitting animations for either male or female drivers and passengers.

The demo also revealed well made pony animations too.

The water troughs are auto height adjusting - the pony touches the trough and it raises or lowers to the right height, and is animated.

I spent several minutes sitting at one just to watch the full range of animations.

A tail vendor - again with a good range of colours to suit, and some pony animations - sadly this was offline on my visit, but I will be checking back another time.

Teleporting back to the stables after finding my cart size, I took a demo for a spin, and even running at about 15 frames per second (yes my PC is that slow!) the cart moved smoothly and fluidly.

Sadly, I am short on funds and so was not able to purchase one for myself, but I will definitely be adding a Cabriolet cart to my collection soon.

A designer name in pony equipment perhaps, but, definitely worth your time to explore.

Jaquline Jewell Design - Evil Skirt

We hadn’t heard from Jaquline in a while, so it was good to get her latest release, the Evil Skirt.

It’s not just so short that you’re going straight to hell (any catholics in the room?), but it also has some actual evil properties ;) See lelo's description for details.

The rear is completely open (cool laces!) so lelo wore her nice POC swimsuit (one of the few items we both wear.) Just to be clear, then, no panties are included.

One fun setting I saw while going through the menu (hey, I test too.. I test on lelo) is “vib random” : knowing the things can go off at any time is sure to introduce a bit of interesting stress in your sweetie’s life ;)

This one made us wonder at first, what can be evil about a skirt, we or should i say i quickly found out. *winks*

The short prim dress has a nice latexy texture and is juts the way i like them, short and flexi, i can watch myself walking in one of those for hours. *smiles*

The menu of the skirt gives you 3 color options, red, black or pink and you can select if you want lacings in back or just the skirt, not very evil you might say and you would be right.

The skirt is just dressing for the real evil contained in it, two dildos which are fully RLV compliant.

Next to the usual lock and owner options you can set the vibs on the dildos, who are Xcite! compatible.

You also can connect bulbs to the dildos and inflate them, giving you that lovely filled feeling.

The only little drawback is as usual a short coming of SL and not something the designer could ever fix, the bulbs have a tendency to end up in your legs.

Fun little toy that should keep you amused for weeks.

Drakke - Starry Freebie and Store Move

Deirdre:
We discovered Drakke Designs a short while back, and Mandrakke sure adopted us.

He keeps us informed of new developments, sends us the store’s new SLURL, tells us about freebies, sends us flowers - well, no, not quite, but nearly ;)

So. The store has moved, and is now taking a good quarter of the sim at Bounty Bay II.

It’s big, but it’s really clean and well laid out, has wonderful high ceilings (you know by now how I hate the cramped little boxes), and a cool black theme, a gorgeous fountain... it’s pretty much what I’d build if I had talent ;)

To celebrate the store move, Mandrakke made one of his best-seller ankle boots free in white, and the black model a cheapie at a stunning 50L$.

By the way, designers, are you listening to the broad hint, here? Keep us posted, and we’ll keep posting about you ;)

Ok back to the boots, not true fetish boots but the stiletto heels are sharp enough to be dangerous in the.. ehh on the wrong feet.

You get the boots with an invisi prim for Viewer 1 users and the alpha mask for the Viewer 2 users, how’s that for good service.

The belt and the little stars on the chain are a fun extra for the boots, making them stand out a bit more.

Get them while the offer is still hot and running...

P and P - Lucky Doll Blue

We saw the P&P stall at Latexia a while back, and the Lucky Doll outfit caught our eye.

As quite a few dolls would agree that lelo is a pretty darned lucky one, we thought we’d feature the outfit tonight ;)

Why blue? Well, there were two colors.. and we feature a *lot* of black.

This is a complete outfit, so if you were looking for something to wear to the Rubber Room, you’re in luck.

Dolls should definitely keep P&P in mind : Felizitaz was telling us she’s working on a latex wedding dress and is considering a doll version.

It’s doll time again, with this basic doll set from P & P.

The outfit contains 16 items : most are prim items, a few of them are freebies, but they are just complementary to the other items in the kit.

The skin is pretty nice and leaves little to no visible skin so you won’t notice the loss of your own skin to much.

The ballets are good looking and have fun little locks on the cuff.

She also includes the Bright Cuffs set in the kit, which is a nice extra.

The thing that really makes this kit is the doll mask, which will completely cover your features giving you that blank doll face we all love, the included doll hair is a nice touch.

There are also two gas-masks in the kit, of which the fallout mask is an old favourite.

All in all, a great start kit for a doll wannabe. Go for the blue one if you want to stand out in a crowd, the black one is the safe, but boring choice.

Hugo's Design - Nexa 2 and Nexa Corset

Introducing Hugo’s Design’s latest release, this is Nexa 2. While there is resemblance with the Nexa 1, it is definitely not a photocopy.

You know how I’m always telling you about mixing and matching?

Well it looks like Erik is building a neat line that will allow you to make dozens of outfits from a few boxes.

Also released this week, the Nexa Corset, sporting matching straps and rivets and D-rings on a daring décolleté.

I will watch this series grow with quite a bit of interest :)

The second installment of Nexa is a bit more dressed then version one. Though not much...

Eric again makes good use of the tattoo layer offering 3 basic options in tattoo.

I like the chaps and the sleeves they give you at least the illusion of being dressed.

As you might expect with a Hugo design you get a open and closed version of the outfit, and as much as i love Mistress’s little hearts, we both show the closed version.

Where version one was for a strip joint or the bedroom, this one is a full fledged party outfit.

Pony Places: Equestrians Barn

For the ponyboys that might, with some justification, feel that the girls have everything while the males get very little, I found this quaint and pleasant ponyboy barn.

Set very close to Frilly Filly Farm, and right on the main Route 9 Linden road, this barn is aimed at the ponyboys.

Outside of the barn is a pleasantly wooded fenced paddock with long grass, perfect for grazing or strutting for the fillies.

Exploring the perimeter of the barn reveals some places to sit and cuddle.

Inside is set out with a handful of stalls and enough items to ensure care of your prized stallion.

The hay loft includes somewhere to relax after taking stallion for a run out.

While this may be a small parcel, missing the expected array of dressage fields, slalom runs and steeple courses, its close proximity to FFF provides an ideal solution.

A short cart ride will take you to FFF and use of the facilities there.

For those without their own carts, a rezzer can be found in the barn, at the back.

The parcel is in fact refreshingly uncluttered, yet manages to be both pleasant and aesthetically pleasing.

Definitely a place to include on your SL pony play tour.

Hi everyone... Deirdre here, with a little bonus! As we dropped by for snaps, we were lucky enough to meet the barn Mistress, Carrie Wyx, and her partner, Hastur Harbrough. We had a lovely chat, and she told us a little of the barn's history. It's is brand new, about a month old, and was built by Hastur as a gift. Carrie deeply cares for ponyboys, and even had a couple stabled when we visited : Stormcrow Echegaray, on the right, and Ravenwings Wind, left. There is still room at the barn for ponyboys (I confirmed with Carrie before writing this!) so do drop in, boys, but be nice : no stampede! ;)

Immerschoen - Lack Pants Set Suzie and Latex Romper Suit BD 8

We received a bunch of good things from Nici at Immerschoen a while back : this cool pair of outfits and a wagonload of tattoos ;)

Now we’re not really big on them, but it’s a good reminder that she has her own niciARTLINE line of tattoos.. do have a look sometime.

Today I’m wearing the Suzie Lack Pants Set, and what little there is of it is indeed shiny like PVC.

The top looks like a classic biker vest, except for the back lacing. The bottom.. looks like a small belt ;)

This is a complete outfit, including clothing layer boots.

A good, inexpensive outfit for a new citizen on a budget, perhaps.

This romper by Immerschoen has a very distinctive latex look to it, especially the way the tension at the belts is made is very good.

Belts are the main feature with this romper, and they are on the gloves and stockings as well, there is a small zipper in the crotch, but that one will stay securely closed. *winks*

A nice extra are the stilettos which have a sexy walk and heel click, especial the silver heels are fun.

The top comes in shirt and jacket layer and the bottom only in pants layer, restricting the mixing and matching a bit, though i really can’t see you wearing this under 2 layers, there wouldn’t show much. *smiles*

As a final extra you get one of Nici’s tattoos - a lovely butterfly in this case.

Drakke’s Design - Restraint and Locked

Remember the eighties? ;)

No, no, not the Saturday Night Live Goat Boy sketches, it’s just what I told Mandrakke when I saw those cool ankle boots with the chains and cuffs - clip-on boot bracelets were big back then.

Mine are called Restraint, and feature a neat handcuff on the left boot and the most adorable little BDSM triskele sign rotating under the heel - talk about not possible in RL.

Those are not new releases - au contraire, they are some of Drakke’s best-sellers.

Don’t forget to tell Mandrakke where you saw them ;)

Some nice ankle boots by Drakke, mostly fashion wear but with a fun little BDSM twist.

The boots have a nice suede look, though he comes close to black on black we love to hate. *smiles*

The big belt is just for show, sadly, and the locked, which i’m wearing, has a couple of nice looking boot chains with loads of little locks.

A great detail is the little key between the sole and the heel with the rotating rings around it.

As with his other boots there is a good working re-size script in the boots which can be delete when the boots fit.

The boots offer the old invisible foot prims or the newer viewer 2 alpha masks.

Great boots for a fun night on the town...

Kayliwulf Kingdom - Carnivale

A fun new release from Kayliwulf, this is Carnivale - a creation of dear Daphne, this time.

Well, Laz can’t be the only one with good ideas ;)

This can be a bunch of different costumes, from goth to burglar - add a mask and you’re there.

The implants are optional, of course - lelo didn’t model them in this shoot.. no, I kid, my sweetie needs a little artificial assistance to look this curvy.

Good thing they’re not vertical stripes, huh? ;)

Halloween is on it’s way and as usual Kayliwulf is the first to bring a themed outfit.

Its a 13 piece outfit and comes with a implant applicator, did we ever tell you how easy that works? A blond bimbo can work these things and not even break a nail while doing it. *winks*

I just love the skirt as you may know, and the corset and fingerless gloves are fun as well.

But the thing that really makes this outfit is the striped catsuit, it will make you stand out in a crowd.

Better hurry, Halloween is around the corner...

Hugo's Design - Nexa 1

Here’s Hugo’s Design’s latest release, a skimpy strappy outfit called Nexa 1.

It’s in Erik’s distinctive style, so if straps, buckles and skimpy latex are for you, you’ll love this outfit :)

In this release, a new color gets introduced - at least, one I haven’t seen at Hugo’s before.

Erik called it blue (I’m wearing it here) but I might have said light purple. De gustibus, as they say ;)

Pony Style: Bridal Pony

No that's not a typo : I do mean bridal, not bridle.

I have long considered how I would want my wedding, should I ever get married in SL.

And last month my girlfriend proposed to me. Happily, I said yes.

That got me back around to thinking about how I would plan a wedding, and naturally, a ponygirl procession is one of my considerations.

After all, who wouldn't enjoy arriving in a ponygirl-drawn carriage for their wedding?

So I went through my pony tack to see how such a bridal procession ponygirl might look.

For this, I used the MB Ultimate hooves, and selected white texture for the boot, black for the straps.

The harness is the Morbid Play bikini harness in white leather. The tail is also from Morbid : braided with 4 bows.

The Evo bridle in white leather to match the harness and Real Restraints arm binder in white leather texture.

The hair is Harem Girl Short from Goldie Locks, in russet red.

A team of 4 similarly outfitted ponygirls would add a touch of elegance to any wedding procession.

Y and N - Yalin Dominant v2

Deirdre:
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for the military look : caps, trench coats, secret agent shades..

So you can imagine how this outfit cried mama to me. The box says Y&N Outfit Yalin Dominant v2.

The devil prims (skulls and pentacles and blood diamonds) are just a bonus ;)

The cap is really great, and fit me pretty much out of the box, with only minor adjustments in position.

The boots are platforms in a slightly older style in SL. Big prim straps and buckles and an unusual shine effect still make them interesting.

If you rez everything in the folder, you’ll end up wearing a pose stand and a box. Detach and open : the box contains a cool shoulder rat and a whip and holster.

A decent outfit, with excellent bits. Price may be a touch high for some, but we’ve certainly seen worse.

We found this one in a bit of a roundabout way: we saw this one at a store in the Rubber Room mall, but found out that is was made by another designer.

We followed the original designer to her main store and had a nice little chat with her.

Her store is a bit different, inside a star sphere you walk around in a pink fog and all kind of birds and fairies fly around you... ok i’m Dutch but i didn’t smoke anything, go have a look for youself.

As you can imagine Mistress just had to have this outfit, if only for the cap. *winks*

Beware of the cuffs on the belt, click them and before you know it they close around your wrists with an ominous rattle.

Places - Lipstickz

Lipstickz is a new women-only club, started a few weeks back by two experienced club managers, Stacy Wytchwood and Lexxxi Bailey. A third owner joined them recently, Chrissy Voir.

It has grown rapidly, in popularity and size - they’re gobbling up land and expanding fast : the club now has a nude pool and a clean little mall, and covers half the sim.

The place has a definite BDSM theme, with two well-appointed dungeons in skyboxes tucked discreetly out of the way thousands of meters in the air.

Keeping lag low is a big concern for the owners - anyone who’s waded through molasses at popular spots in SL will appreciate this.

The club itself is pretty amazing, with many areas for dancing and relaxing, rows of dance balls for that line dance thing, and a classy, distinctive look.

The focus in coming weeks will be events. No less than one party a day is the plan for the near future, with several parties a day being the ultimate goal.

When you visit, as you climb the stairs and turn right to enter the club, don’t miss the cool custom-made fetish freebies by PoC and Jinxed.

This is a complete redesign of the previous model, which was called the Isolation Hood. Winter tells me this is two months of work, and I can well believe it.

I heard someone today call this, “the classic doll outfit”. Well, call me an old-fashioned girl but i just love this look, classic or not.

Where to start on this one... hmm looks i guess, Winter told us she had worked two months on this hood and it shows, the buckles look great and so does the lacing on the back.

I can imagine she had to do quite a bit of work on fitting the hood so it fits most head shapes without becoming too bulky. Just to make sure, she even put a shape in the package, but it fit me fine after a minimum of positioning.

To make the hood really work, she offers a hooded skin and a bib in all layers and all the standard colors.

Speaking of the colors, the combinations you can make here are near endless. You can pick colors for hood, laces, straps, details, neck, locks, mouth and label. Most in a few standard colors and a couple offer you 16.7 million color tints.

Winter offers matching catsuits to the 12 standard hood colors for very reasonable prices and of course they match the ER boobs.

If you think that’s all the tweaking you can do, you couldn’t be more wrong. For one thing, you can show and hide the mouth, buckles, lacing and the label.

The label is the other item that gives you the possibility to totally personalize the hood, every 5 letter/number combination is possible, so if you like collecting dolls you can number. *winks*

Think you’re done? There is one more personalization you need to do, offer your key to the right Dom(me). When (s)he locks it on, small locks appear in the buckles and with RLV the hood stays on.

*comes up for air* so if you are a doll or want to be one and you don’t have this item in your inventory.. run.. you should really own one... now.

L and G - Oceana

Deirdre:
We found L&G on one of our regular shopping trips at the Rubber Room mall.

We followed a link that dropped us on the third floor - be very careful if you land there by mistake : that tiny section is for buying franchise vendors. (The big red Stop signs should be a hint that you’re not in the main store).

Oceana, then, is Lava’s latest release. It’s a neat outfit, and all the details are right : mod pants, gloves for painted nails, good pic in the box to show your friends. It all screams “professional”, and we see a *lot* of boxes, so trust me when I say that ;)

The stripes are good, and so are the reflections. Even the crotch area (where most designs break down) is quite good.

The store has a cool, industrial look to it, with a group of marble statues in the middle that might seem a bit out of place, but don’t look bad at all.

Don’t adjust your set, this isn’t your screen having a defect.. *winks*

Vertical stripes aren’t something i’ve seen on a catsuit in SL so far, so bonus points for that.

Another fun thing is that when you wear the “gloves” your fingernails are painted in a matching color to the outfit.

The pants are full mod so you can adjust length, fit and cuffs, so you can adjust them to fit the shoes or boots you are wearing.

The breasts aren’t fully covered, but the top is busy enough that you don’t feel naked.

Finally there is a spike collar include in the kit, it doesn’t have any scripting, open collar anyone?
