New Community Dolls Blog

Lelo received a group notice from the Community Dolls, whom we featured a while back.

They launched a new blog, and I think the smartest thing I can do is quote them:

This Blog is part of a new phase for the Community Dolls. We have a new home and what I like to think of as a "new mission."

I'd like to bring all doll players in SL into one larger community where we celebrate what it is to be or be with dolls.

To that end Community Dolls will be hosting at our new home a regular series of open forms/group discussions on a variety of topics related to doll play.

Specifics are not all in place yet but it is my intention that the transcripts of the discussions will be posted here for those who cannot attend live and in person.

This blog will also be used by some dolls as a journal to write down her thoughts on being a doll.

Eclectic Randomness - Obsidian Jouet Doll Avatar

A neat avatar for our doll and android lovers tonight, this is the Obsidian Jouet Doll avatar by Eclectic Randomness.

It has a distinct alien look, with exaggerated wide eyes and thick lips. The head is unrigged mesh, and Winter says that it works with most mesh hair.

Three shapes are included in the box, so if you thought lelo looked a bit short tonight, you were not wrong :)

Lolas Tango! appliers are shown in our pics, and there are tons more: eBoobs Overfilled, Anime, and Naturals; vString Classic and Evo; and Mused Full and MilkMade.

If you look closely, you’ll notice doll joints - they’re easier to see on the lighter versions, of course. Aside from Obsidian, Jouet is available in Shilo (a light pink), Silver, Pearl, Cocoa, and Cosmos.

So just get a flying saucer and get ready for some fun roleplay :)

We had seen the Jouet Doll by Winter Ventura at Eclectic Randomness go by a few times already, but with this Obsidian version we just had to pounce.

Even if Winter doesn’t call it latex, it does look like it so we’ll treat it like that. *winks*

You’ll get a packed folder, containing the mesh head, tintable tattoo layer joints, 3 shapes (i’m wearing the smallest).

There are 12 skins included, with small, normal and busy breast shadows and each with the option if you want your nipples and/or vagina showing.

Then there are boob appliers for most available boobs in SL, once again with an option to show or hide your nipples.

You would think that’s enough, but no, there is more, a lovely little HUD that lets you control the eye and lip color and a choice of 6 different lashes.

Winter also sells a separate applier set for all the other available mesh body parts (like Phat Azz and the AMD baby bump) you can get in SL.

Plausible Body - Harness and Basic Catsuit

A nice mesh harness by Plausible Body tonight.. and as we didn’t want to model it naked, we are also showing you their excellent Basic latex catsuits.

This is a full body harness, made with riveted straps and O rings. Looks pretty plausible to me, too :)

Fit is good, even for a not completely standard body size like mine.

The harness is rigged mesh, so it fits well and moves with the body. The cost of rigged is no resize, but with the five standard sizes included, most should be fine.

Of course, Plausible sells avatars, so if you need a better fit, you have options ;)

The catsuit vendor threw an astonishing 17 color folders at me, one after the other, plop, plop, plop.. fun :) You know in advance, you won’t be quite as shocked as we were.

The suggested prices for the Harness and Basic Catsuit box are very reasonable, so if you have the L$, do support a cool and original SL store.

Another round of open price products from Plausible Body tonight, it still amazes me but it seems it works for them, so there still are people in SL that appreciate hard work.

First item is the mesh harness, which to warn you right now is made for the smaller breasted AV, i had to wear my mesh dress form for this one to fit right.

The harness comes in the 5, Plausible Body, standard sizes and with my reduced breast i’m fitting comfortably in an XS Harness.

You’ll also find two HUD's in the folder, which gives you the opportunity to change the texture, color, shine and opacity of the belts and the rings separately.

The catsuit is a great basic catsuit with a nice dull shine and with a choice of 17 colors there should always be one for you.

So buy, try and pay the girls what you think it’s worth.. they work hard for their money and a brave move like their open price policy should be rewarded.

New Feature - Fetish People of Second Life - Melody Thirdborn

A while back, we had the idea to share a bit about the cool fetish-loving people we meet in Second Life - feature people who do fun and unusual things in the fetish scene.

I have a ridiculous friends list full of them, but someone had to be first ;)

Melody Thirdborn caught our eye at Heavy Bondage Club with her latex furry avatar. We said hello - I pounce on everyone I find interesting in SL, it has led to many neat conversations and quite a few friendships :)

Melody, then, assembled her own avatar: the hood, hands and feet are from a DSD Cheetah Avatar, the ears from an EXL fox then a KaS catsuit, an Open Collar, a Lemon Tea neko tail, and eCorp boobs. The eyes she made herself.

She mentioned that the SL fetish avatar mirrors her RL fetishes - she has a latex cat mask she customized in RL as well :)

Melody’s been in Second life for four years, and she got into latex pretty much from the first week. She asked for recommendations about where to shop and hang out, and she was soon rolling.

An early hangout was at Pak, near Marine’s shop - as she says, before fetish people hung out at Mesmerize Dungeon and Heavy Bondage Club. Nowadays she can be seen at HBC, Tai Yong Laboratories, and for peace and quiet, Kelley Park.

Latex furry isn’t Melody’s only look; she made tons of doll avatars, and she participated in the Altertech Bane program, which is now closed, sadly.

One thing Melody told us which is particularly neat to fetish lovers in SL is that she tried SL twice and found it boring - on her third try she dove straight into fetish and never looked back, hence her name, Thirdborn.

Hugo’s Design - Myx

Another skimpy Hugo outfit, this is Myx. It features generous cutouts and a riveted tiny-bikini style top and bottom, with a riveted garter belt thrown in.

If lelo hadn’t picked a modest pose for me, you’d see one of my famous censorship hearts, because that clever bikini bottom cutout makes this outfit a no-go for me.

The open versions are simply the cutout top sans bikini. Lots of layer versions, open top closed bottom and all the permutations make this a full box.

We’re not quite at the “everything on one tattoo layer”, but at one layer for the outfit and one for gloves and stockings, it’s good enough ;)

As usual you’ll get a folder filled with cloth layers, 28 in this case and seems Erik really loves the tattoo layer as he includes more and more of them.

You can select an open or closed top, same goes for the bottom, which also gives you the option to add garters.

Erik doesn't disappoint and completes the outfit with his usual stockings and long gloves, though sadly these stockings don’t have the seam along the back i love so much, still gives you more to mix and match.

The Lolas appliers, that are sold separately, offer you 5 options, from covered to all open, there is even one with peekaboo nipples… *smiles*

Kat Clears Up Tax Matters

Kat Fetisov spent a ton of effort getting the correct info regarding the new IRS regulations on taxes for Second Life income.

She kept her blog readers posted on the developments as she went, and summed up her findings in her latest blog post.

This is absolutely essential reading for any non-US resident with a good volume of Second Life sales.

Lady Anne’s Latex Emporium - White Hot Leathers and Beautiful Savage Harness

Some really amazing bike leathers from Lady Anne for me tonight - lelo’s a little less covered up in her harness.

Astute regular readers (and as I like to say, there is no other kind) will recognize that Anne’s flame-decorated bolero is similar to the lovely Big City Girl outfit we showed you in DeVicious’ mad rush to Christmas :)

But the amazing cutout, flame-layered bottom pants are pure Anne. The white flames are original too, a little less brash than the standard orange.

The back of the jacket sports a cool skull-and-crossbones pattern with the motto “Biker Chicks Don’t Ride Bitch”, ie, passenger. You own your bike, and you ride it :)

The clothes-layer waistcoat vest completes the look. Boots are included, as well as big aviator shades which I skipped here.

As we were about to start our post, Anne gave us a call and we got a first-class tour of her store, which we hadn’t visited in ages.

I recommend you give it a peek, she added tons of new content - including a section with lots of kinky clothes and toys for men, something we just don’t see a lot of in SL.

DS Tech - PaciGag

Deirdre:

Nearly a year since we featured DS Tech, so I thought it was high time. We were reminded of this when someone called us to ask where the store was, as they were looking for the Rubber Puppy kit.

A bit of searching brought us to the new location, and lelo immediately updated the slurl in our old post. (We do try to keep on top of things, so please don’t hesitate to call and tell us a store’s location has changed.)

While we were there, we had a look around and the PaciGag caught my eye. Silence plus humiliation - how can you beat that combo? ;)

The gag looks like a big pacifier, and offers fine control over colors - 131 of them, to be exact; mostly pastels, unsurprisingly. It’s also a great RLV gag, and I’ll let lelo describe that.

Drool, of course, is a feature. Not a bug ;)

A nice little toy tonight, coming from the girls at DS Tech, the PaciGag, for the child in you.

As you can imagine this is a RLV toy and gives you control over everything a gag like this would do in RL.

So next to naming owners, filling blacklists, setting lock timers you can control everything involving speech with this gag.

The gag goes further than most including the suck binky option where everything you say is changed into an embarrassing remark about sucking on your binky.

There is even an option to control the gag from outside of SL with an Android app, though this will mean downloading a free app and some hacking in settings.

Finally, if you get stuck in the gag, there is the option to go to the store and reset it to factory settings.

So amazing scripting, which should give you hours of embarrassing fun… *winks*

Tami’s - Garter Dress

Deirdre:

We got a call from Tamina Boa two days ago - so this is as hot-off-the-press as we could make it, ok?

Kirsten beat us to it by a few months and she takes great (materials enabled!) pics so we’re not jealous. One bit. Really. ;)

Tami's Garter Dress matches Bax’s beautiful gradient-color Regency boots, and not by accident, either.

Well, Bax herself made a point of matching Hugo colors with previous releases, so it’s clearly a smart thing to do.

This is a really cool mesh minidress, and the big latex garter belt turns into an accent for the skirt - that’s really original.

The top has a fun outside accent too, almost looking like a vest from the sides... oh, and Canadian-winter-sized nipple bumps ;)

Fun little mesh dress tonight, by a newbie to our blog, Tamina Boa with her Tami’s label.

Tamina made the dress to match the Bax Regency color faded boots in white/black, mint/black, red/black and blue/black.

She was even nice enough to add the LM to Bax in the package so you can get the matching boots.

The dress comes in 7 sizes so it should fit most in SL, you might have to make your boobs a bit smaller as i had to, but i’m sure you’ll have a shape for that when you are as boobelishious as i am. *winks*

 Tamina’s store is still new, so beware of wet paint - well actually it offers only a few items so as an exception we’ll point you to marketplace, keep an eye on Tamina, we will, she shows a lot of promise.

On Playing Fair

You may have seen the book “Everything I Ever Needed To Know I Learned In Kindergarten”.

You know, things like “Play fair”, “Don’t hit people”, and “Don’t take things that aren’t yours.”

We’ve told you a number of times about the Freedom Continent and Serjourn Daxter, a well-known SL resident who supports adult content - specifically, BDSM and fetish - with pretty much her every hour in-world.

Search for the first name Serjourn in SL and you’ll see exactly two people; not what you’d call a big crowd. (In contrast, there are seven pages of Deirdre’s).

So running into someone using a two-week old account called SerjaurnDaxter Resident was a pretty bad surprise.

We saw her at a fetish hangout, with an avatar looking a lot better than most two-week olds we meet. No great powers of deduction were needed to guess the account is an alt.

What is this person thinking? It’s difficult to tell. It can’t be fraud, or other deception - it won’t work on any but the rankest SL beginners.

What do you call someone who causes you a loss but gains nothing from it? Well I know how professor Carlo M. Cipolla calls them.

The Lindens, as usual, were ponderously unhelpful. Pray, pray, wherever you live, that the police never starts treating muggings as a “dispute between residents”. Serjourn has abuse reports open, but she’s not holding her breath.

So. “SerjaurnDaxter Resident”, go back to kindergarten, hm? And learn not to take things that aren’t yours.

Freebies - Patula’s House

I think Patula’s House was a tip, but the note we have is from last March, so whoever sent it, thank you, we love you, ok? :)

There’s quite a few nice shoes and boots at Patulas, although regular readers of this blog will recognize some of the sculpts.

While we love original designers who make everything from scratch pixels, a good texture on a bought sculpt can produce good results, and we don’t mind sharing them when we find them.

Patula’s sells mostly fetish and fashion shoes and boots, with a bit of clubwear. But the part of the store to which we want to direct your attention is the freebies wall on the second floor: 36 items, from shoes and boots to men’s shirts.

You’ll need to join the VIP group to pick them up, but that’s not uncommon, and it’s free.

If you keep an eye on such things, Patula’s is our third new designer this week.. bodes well for the year, doesn’t it? :)

Sugar - Laced Leather Pants and Kink Top

I must admit I dropped the ball a little on Sugar, and I apologize to her. In October, we ran into her at Rubber Room, and started yakking.

She gave me these beautiful Lo-Rise Tied Up Leather Pants - Silver Eyelets (the full name) to look at, and I thanked her nicely, then forgot to unpack them. Silly Deirdre!

Here we are, months later, we visit her store and see all this gorgeous work she’s been doing with our old friend Fyre Furse - well, better late than never, here we are.

The top, from the Kink set, is a detailed short-sleeved leather shirt with a large cutout I’d call keyhole.. if your key is the size of a frisbee ;) There’s a tiny mini skirt in Kink, not worn here.

Detailed leather texture, sneams, snaps and straps make this top a really good match for the pants. Kink is available in black, pink and white.

The long laces really catch the eye on the pants, and the excellent folds and waist, knee and ankles make this some of the best mesh leather pants I’ve seen. I like how they go really long, but you’ll need ankle boots with these.

I used my usual long-pants trick: Bax ankle boots without the leg part, and they look made for times like this.

Though the thing that caught Mistress’s eye was the leather and you should know Mistress by now - she can spot new leather a sim away.

Sugar isn’t entirely unknown as she is the partner of Fyre Furse, the kinky mind behind Hybridz.

PsiCorp - Wildgasmasks KG1

Another cool item we spotted at Domme a Domme - for a hangout which is not exclusively fetish, there sure is a lot of good-looking stuff worn there :)

PsiCorp makes a number of furry and anthro-based products, but what caught our eye was the Wildgasmask KG1.

This is a mesh version of a RL product - always a fun thing - made with permission of the creator. The Web site for the latex items is http://www.wildgasmasks.com

Psistorm did a lot more than just photocopy the existing item, however. The beautiful textures he added make an incredible difference. Plain black latex is lovely, no question, but see the cheetah texture in our second pic to see what I mean. (Note - Psi pointed out there are in fact more textures on the RL mask. I plead Blonde Confusion.)

Pictured here is the mask without the rear hood part visible; to give you a good idea of the shape and the straps, lelo took off her own hood - ear fetishists will be thrilled ;)

The mask is made for human heads, but as it's fully resizeable, it will fit furries, so you can adjust it for your sweetie’s head if she has a muzzle.

There are other designs than the cat, and we’ll be showing them to you in coming weeks. One is in the works and should be popular with many of our readers, tease tease ;)

As you enter the store, turn left for Accessories - the masks are on the far left wall on the ground floor. Note that this is a very adult store.

Something different tonight, how about a mask and not just any mask, but an animal mask, made by Psistorm Ikura at PsiCorp.

The mask comes in 2 versions, one as a full rubber hood and the other comes with straps to keep it on your face.

There are 10 color variations of the mask, all sold separately or in one big pack, which is considerably cheaper than getting all the separate masks.

You can add hoses leading to a filter on your back to make it a real gas mask.

The mask has a simple menu that lets you control the breath clouds the mask produces and gives you the possibility to change the color of the eye lenses.

So want something completely different that you can also wear in RL, go see PsiCorp, hope you aren’t too squirmish, as like Mistress said, it’s a very adult store.

Rosal - Steam Complete Set

Introducing the Steam Complete Set By Rosal - we’ve had that one in our pockets for a few days and it was starting to burn holes ;)

Considering that when we see someone wearing one Rosal item, it’s usually accompanied by the rest of the matching set, being able to buy them all together should make a lot of customers really happy.

Tsarina made an incredibly efficient unpacker that sends folder after folder in your inventory, plop, plop, plop. She could package that and sell it to other designers and make a… wait for it… Mint ;)

I went with white, and lelo stayed with black, but there are no less than eight textures for the set - not counting the endless variety once you start fiddling with tints on all the parts.

There’s so much to love in this kit that I don’t know where to start. The straps and O rings at the tops of gloves and boots - with seams, straps, rivets and subtle shading at the edges - caught my eye, in particular.

The fit is awesome, as usual, and the white is so gorgeous that I threw on the neck collar, a part I usually skip.

Throw this set over a catsuit or Victorian outfit and go save (or conquer!) the world in style!

We already showed you the corsets of the Steam series, but now Tsarina has added the boots, ballet boots and gloves, all in one nice package.

As with all Rosal products you can access the menu by using channel 2 in chat and naming the part, like boots or waist.

With the menu you can set the colors of your item, you get 8 colors to choose from, they can be set for every single part or as a set.

You can also add optional frills to the items you are wearing, making the outfit more feminine.

All the parts come in 3 sizes for the corsets and 6 sizes for the boots and with the included well cut alphas, they should fit most in SL, the corset even comes with two height sizes, for the longer girls.

Also you will find OpenCollar-scripted versions of the corsets in the box, so even you bondage bunnies are being catered to.

Marine’s Goodies - Bubblizer

It’s not every day a designer tips us to another’s creations, but Kat Fetisov was the one who pointed us to the Bubblizer.

This is one of those toys that’s better suited to public locations and lots of players, so we went to see one on location at Stones `n Rubber.

It can be a fairly big arena, and they cleverly squeezed it in place at SnR.

If that one is busy when you arrive, there’s another at Bondage City. Or, you know, buy one for yourself ;)

There’s a soccer mode, a dodgeball mode, it involves large bubbles that change color, bondage will hinder you while you play, and you’ll need RLV for it to work.

The game is fun, intricate, and we won’t waste your time with copy-pasted content. See all the details on Marine’s blog - it’s really well explained there - and get a few friends together and go play :)

Hugo - Silver

We’re all better tonight, and so here’s our first Hugo post of the year, a simple little outfit called Silver.

It has a belted top with a deep cleavage, or a plain top with a rounded, slightly more modest shape. Astute readers will have guessed who is wearing which.

The gloves and stockings are semi transparent, so if you add layers, you’ll get mixed colors - I found out by wearing red and yellow together: orange! I like the extra wide black band at the top of both.

Some good tattoo layer combos are included, like gloves plus stockings, and pants plus garters; the latter is really three parts, as the high-waist pants have a top part on the shirt or jacket layer if you go the old-fashioned route.

Since Erik is the king of the full box, I would love to see the full outfit on one tattoo layer, head to toe, boom. I’m sure it would be popular, I can’t be the only lazy person in SL ;)

First Hugo of the new year and he starts with the most confusing name ever, as you might have seen in Mistress’s lead-in.

Silver comes in all the Hugo colors except silver *winks* and you’ll find 20 clothes items in the package.

These 20 items give you a choice of 2 tops, belted or cropped, 2 pants, with and without garters and you can add stockings and gloves.

Erik totally ignores the stocking and glove options that the Lindens have given us and uses the tattoo layers to add them.

A small note on using the pants, these are so high that if you don’t use the tattoo layer you’ll need to wear two parts to get the full pants.

Lolas and Phat Azz appliers are sold separately, for those of you who need that extra bit of padding… *winks*

KaS - HobbleDress

If you’ve spent any amount of time in fetish hangouts (and other kinds, I’m sure) recently, you’ve seen girls in amazing shiny dresses with lots of straps in back.. I mean the new KaS Hobble Dress, of course.

It was released while we took our brief Christmas break, so we got a lot of good friends tipping us about the dress - thank you all :)

I promised Salid it would be the first item we featured this year - and there might have been tipster riots if we hadn’t done so ;)

The dress looks amazing; I mean I’d love it even without all the bondage options. Out of the box, the normal dress fits me 95% without an alpha, so I didn’t even unbox any of the others - five standard sizes, L to XXS.

When you first wear the dress, a cool “click me” part is clearly visible around the waist - it’s the last time you’ll see it, too - and it takes you to the menu. Locking, Owners, Openings, Movement and Options are controlled here, and you’re reminded that color and gloss are controlled from the HUD.

The colors are great, there’s a ton of textures (many matching the standard POC colors), and if you uncheck “Textured” you get RGB infinite color goodness, but you lose the highlights.

Shininess is for new viewers, apparently, but I had a blast playing with glow - cherry pink, 25%, light to midnight, looks eerie and is made for dolls who crave attention ;)

Awesome, awesome, awesome release. If you don’t mind running into others wearing the same clothes, this one’s for you ;)

And here is another belated item, if you haven’t seen this around SL the last couple of weeks you must have been hiding in a strict PG area.

Something new from KaS doesn’t happen daily, but when she finishes something you can be sure that it is amazing, and this goes for her newest, the HobbleDress.

In the box you'll find the dress in 5 sizes and 3 lengths, ankle long as a true hobble dress, knee long as a good looking dress and a sexy mini.

The dress comes with her usual HUD so you can match you dress to most outfits or moods.

The dress itself gives you access to the options menu, making the dress lockable, gives you control over which rear openings are covered or open and your hobble AO, which comes with no less than 3 hobble walks.

There are also RLV options in the menu, one when wearing the mittens determining what you can and can’t touch.

And more remarkable an auto alpha function that automatically selects the right alpha for how you are wearing the dress, using the #RLV folder, just load the specially made alphas into your #RLV folder.

Better get yours quickly before Salid discovers that she priced this one way too low… *winks*
